Who goes for Wagyu Rendang?:ME!

ps: guys, it was a long long long time ago post from my blog so bare with me. The pics quality is kind of poor. But, i'll try my best to describe and re-tell.

Recalled those times when i passed through social house sign on 3rd floor of Grand Indonesia's foodhall . But , i never got the chance to paid visits . If i'm not mistaken it was located one floor above the foodhall. But it appeared that they've changed their location to the 1st floor of East part of Grand Indonesia and you can only get there by using the lift in front of Gramedia.

Yesterday ( a yesterday from july or august, last year ) , I paid it a visit to killed my curiosity toward the one of most famous Ismaya's venues at Jakarta. The entrance itself wasn't big ,when i stepped inside there was a hallway to the main restaurant . I found it quite pretty.

hallway to the main restaurant, i love how those pretty box and standing chandelier light up our way to the main restaurant. I must say they are detailed and serious with the interior and furnishing.After the hallway i could see the main restaurant which dominated by russet colored wooden furniture which covering almost every parts of it . A beautifully blended and compatible colored toward one another .they also provide many types of liquors , wines or maybe sakes

Inside of it was spacious and there was a part which i believe it was made inspired by garden but i was quite sure i took a pic of it but i couldn't found it in my camera ( ugh )It was packed back then . Luckily i got seats for 3 without reserved in advance . I remembered there was one of the waiter asked us what to order and we weren't ready for it yet then he left us with annoying voice tone but apart from that , we were given good hospitality from the others .

And there's something i must let y all know .

Wagyu Beef Rendang 135k
Their wagyu beef rendang was sinfully delicious . Came in a very generous portion , rich flavors of spices and the beef itself was juicy , tender and the baby potatoes were also well cooked . I read that this rendang took 8 hours of cooking time with slow cooked technique or maybe with small fire. At first i was not quite sure ordered this but after a few bites . Seriously , no regrets. And now, March, 2013 i crave for it. So bad!! yum! 9,5/10Grilled Seabass 125k
The skins were too strong in flavors while the meat was quite tasteless for me. But it quite decent and came in a beautiful presentation but no so much happening on the taste area. But, if you are a fish lover, you might enjoy this. But, i couldn't. Not a fan of seabass thou. I prefer salmon. Luckily, this was my friend's tongue

Begonia 35k
The name was quite funny , if you know what i mean . It was a mixtures from kiwi and strawberry . Quite refreshing . As for me the shaved ices was quite too much. Sorry for the poor picture.. If they decreased the amount of the shaved ices, it could be so much better.Our bills came with thank you & heart in it .I was having good times there . And maybe will pay another visit soon for another wagyu beef rendang . Definitely a place to loosen up after those hectic weekly routines. I love how the place was beautifully made and shockingly spacious inside. The services were partly good, partly annoying. Some of the waiters were good and attentive, while some looked quite arrogant. Cold air-con, cozy ambiance surely made me want to stay a little longer.Social House

Hay para openricer lol

Kembali lagi bersama gua orang yang suka bagi bagi cerita tentang tempat makan yang pernah gua datengin semasa hidup gua..

Hari ini gua mau bagi-bagi cerita tentang tempat makan yang dulu gua datengin sama keluarga gua tepatnya di Harvey Nichols at Grand Indonesia,
gua dateng ketempat ini ber 5 sama keluarga besar gua... niat gua dateng kesini dengan keluarga gua adalah untuk menghangatkan tubuh dengan meminum wine.. yuk simak...

Pertama kali sampai di Social House tempatnya itu bagus dan klasik banget berasa sedang dinner di luar negri... Dari pintu pertama sampai ujung tempat itu terdapat wine yang di pajang di lemari-lemarinya..
Gua pun langsung aja reserve tempat dan akhirnya gua dapet tempat duduk, dan pelayan pun memberikan menu.. Menu menu di sini cukup banyak, ada steak, wine, pizza, minuman bersoda, minuman beer Float, salad, dan masih banyak lagi..
dan yang waktu itu keluarga gua pesan adalah sebotol wine.. pelayan pun mengambilkan wine yang gua pesan tadi... beberapa lama kemudian wine nya pun datang , pelayannya pun menuangkan wine tsb ke gelas yang sediakan oleh nya.. kami pun langsung aja mencicipi wine tsb.. warna winenya itu berwarna putih seperti air putih dan rasa wine nya adalah agak sedikit pahit pahit sedikit keras dan ada rasa manisnya sedikit.. efek samping meminum wine tersebut adalah, tubuh terasa menjadi hangat..

Buat kalian para openricer yang mau makan disini cukup bawa Rp.100.000-Rp.200.000 saja...
kebersihan di tempat ini sangat sangat terjaga... dan pelayanannya pun sangat baik....

On a sunny Sunday morning, after a horrible traffic at Central Park on Saturday night on December 22, my wife and I decided to go to Social House for brunch. We called earlier in the morning to make sure if they have seats for two, and once we arrived, we were seated at the smoking section because the tables at the non-smoking section were full. Even that, we were allowed to sit for maximum of 90 minutes as the restaurant were supposed to be busy for lunch.

So once seated, the waiter immediately took our order. We ordered Chamomile tea and Cafe Mocha to quench our thirst; however, the Mocha came really late, after both the Eggs Benedict and “Old Time” Favorites arrived at our table. The Eggs Benedict at Social House was served over a rustic bread, instead of the usual english muffins. It was also served with cooked turkey ham and melted gruyere. The bread was probably as "rustic" as it was called, that it was a bit hard to chew and was not to our liking. Although the presentation of the eggs wasn’t appetiting, they were cooked just right that the yolk melted slowly as we sliced the egg whites. Old Time Favorites, Rp 75k
The Old Time Favorites however, was satisfying. We ordered the eggs to be sunny side up. We missed baked beans and haven’t had them for a while, so this was probably as good as it gets. Pork bacon was crispy and thin, yet salty, which enhanced our appetite. The chicken sausage that came with the meal was pretty standard. Mushroom and baked potato slices were well cooked. Overall, we think Social House serves decent brunch menu in a neat and hip restaurant setting for hangouts. The price of the food was reasonable given the restaurant setting and location at Grand Indonesia. Although that morning was not filled with too many smokers in the smoking section, be sure to reserve in advance, even for Sunday breakfast or brunch hours, if you want to be seated in non-smoking section.

Saya baru pertama kali ke restoran ini dan kesan pertama saya adalah glamour melihat desainnya yang klasik dengan deretan botol beer yang sangat banyak. Saya kesini menghadiri acara ultah teman saya yang memang acara diningnya juga terkesan mewah. Makanan yang disajikan pun ditampilkan sedemikian rupa hingga terlihat seperti hidangan di restoran2 bintang 5. Untuk rasanya lumayan enak dan suasana restoran ini menyebabkan sensasi makan yang berbeda dengan restoran2 lainnya. Untuk harga saya yakin cukup mahal mengingat tempat yang cozy dan hidangan yang classy.

Mendengar kata "SOSIALITA" pasti yang tergambarkan di pikiran openricers adalah sekelompak orang-orang atau yang biasanya wanita-wanita yang selalu tampil modis dengan barang-barang branded dari ujung kepala sampai kaki dan sering kongkow bareng di resto-resto mahal deh.. Yah gak,openricers? tongue

Tapi kali ini yang mau aku bahas di sini bukan soal baju-baju, tas, atau sepatu branded yah, openricers. Tentu aja aku bakal bahas tentang makanan.

Aku akan ngebahas tentang salah satu tempat kongkow yang seru dan nyaman buat bareng sahabat, pacar, atau keluarga yang lokasinya tepat di tengah-tengah ibukota, yaitu Social House at Harvey Nichols di Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, Jakarta.
Dari tempatnya yang super duper keren memang terdengar cocok buat tempat kongkownya para sosialita, tapi eitssss jangan berhenti dulu baca reviewku karena tempat ini juga bisa kok buat orang-orang biasa seperti kita buat kongkow bareng. Jadi, jangan langsung minder ataupun kecil hati untuk makan di sini ya

Waktu datang ke sini kebetulan banget pas hari Sabtu. Yang namanya weekend, pasti tempat-tempat makan selalu rame deh. Akhirnya aku masuk ke waiting list untuk makan di sini. Tapi ga usah langsung bete dulu begitu masuk ke waiting list karena Social House a.k.a SoHo menyediakan satu tempat yang ada meja dan kursinya untuk menunggu. Jadi, openricers gak perlu jalan-jalan dulu untuk menghabiskan waktu sembari nunggu karena tempat untuk menunggunya ini cukup nyaman lho. Sambil nunggu, kita bisa lihat-lihat daftar menu atau gak sambil foto-foto.

Setelah menunggu kurang lebih 10 menit, akhirnya ada juga tempat duduk. Biarpun saat itu lagi rame banget, tapi openricers akan tetap merasa nyaman. SoHo menyediakan berbagai menu makanan mulai dari makanan Asia sampai Western. Menu yang dominan banyak di sini adalah menu Western. Aku memesan Pan Fried Chicken Breasts in Mushroom & Sage Cream Sauce Served with Garlic Potatoes, Meat Lovers Pizza, dan Green Tea Late untuk beveragenya.

Menu ini terdiri dari potongan-potongan dada ayam yang boneless alias tanpa tulang, jamur, cream sauce, dan garlic potatoes. Ayamnya empuk dan terasa gurih dengan cream saucenya. Yang paling aku suka dari menu ini adalah garlic potato-nya. Rasa asin dari kentang ini membuat aku mau mau terusssss

Meat Lovers Pizza

Terdiri dari beberapa potong pizza yang toppingnya chicken, mushroom, cheese, serta sauce. Roti dari pizza ini teksturnya kering dan warnanya pucat, namun tidak keras saat digigit.

Green Tea Late

Ini salah satu minuman favoritku. Jadi, aku memesan ini di SoHo. Perpaduan green tea late dengan whip cream membuat rasa green tea late yang manisnya pas ini begitu segar saat masuk ke mulut kita.
