Hey ha OpenRicers. Setelah diundang OpenRice untuk gathering ke Segarra Dining, Lounge and Weddings, dan merasa excited berhari-hari, akhirnya hari yang ditunggu-tunggu pun tiba. Maka itu, saya pun berangkat menuju Segarra yang terletak di dalam Ancol yah.
Acara sebenarnya di jadwalkan mulai jam 17.00, namun karna pas waktu itu cuaca sedang tidak terlalu bersahabat, rintangan macet dan juga perjalanan cukup jauh, plus saya sedikit bingung mencari lokasi Segarra Seaside Escape yang rada tricky, akhirnya saya pun tiba sekitar jam 17.30 (Ops, sorry OpenRice ) and thank God it hadn't started yet! Ada beberapa OpenRicers yang telat dan mengalami kendala juga seperti saya. For the next 15 minutes, our "party" started! *\(^^)/*Firstly, pastinya dimulai dengan presentasi soal Segarra Seaside Escape yah dari Mr. Ali Hidayattuloh dan dari presentasinya itu saya mendapatkan banyak informasi nih tentang Segarra. Segarra sendiri merupakan kata dari bahasa Jawa Kuno yah yang artinya lautan.
Nah, silahkan dengar 'ceramah' berupa 'The OpenRice Gathering at Segarra Trilogy' saya yah yang akan saya tulis dibawah ini.

Segarra Dining, Lounge and Weddings ini awalnya merupakan konsep restaurant yang terletak di Seaside yah tentunya dengan pemandangan pantai yang indah dan kenyamanan bersantai para pengunjung. Namun seiringnya waktu, dengan demand dari customers juga, akhirnya Segarra sering ada 'live party' juga. Banyak juga yang bilang kalau Segarra ini mirip banget sama suasana pantai di Bali, and guess what? It sure does look quite like Bali, IMHO. (But it doesn't matter, this section strictly isn't for my opinion )
Konsep Segarra sekarang ini pun sudah menjadi bukan sekedar Seaside Escape yah. Segarra menjadi Segarra Dining, Lounge and Weddings, dan tetap dengan pemandangan tepi pantai yang exotic, mengikuti lifestyle sekarang ini, dan lagipula, memang saya akui Segarra memiliki potensi tersebut.

Sebagai contoh, ruangan lantai atas (indoor and Full-AC) yang dapat dipakai untuk small wedding, terlihat sangat bagus dan exclusive. It will be like a private wedding party with nice, simple and elegant interior. As for big party, they have the ground floor to serve thousands of people. Bagian outdoor juga dapat digunakan, dan it's going to be awesome for people who hold their weddings in Segarra, IMO.
Therefore, bagi OpenRicers yang berencana mau nikahan, Segarra can be added into your deep consideration for sure!
Selain itu, di Segarra ini juga menyediakan dua ruangan meeting, dan bagi para OpenRicers kantoran yang mau ngadain meeting, this is quite the right place juga. Dijamin yang mau meeting bakal dapat inspiration and motivation dari indahnya pemandangan (atau malah terlena dengan indahnya pemandangan disini. It's really up to you guys for that. )

Buat para pecinta wine or other alcohol-based drinks, this is your heaven too. They serve wine (they will even hold a wine tasting event quite soon), tapas, martini and other more.
Coffee Lovers, you can try their Caramel Macchiato.
Range Food yang ditawarkan Segarra juga sangat bervariasi, from Western to Eastern. Dari Segarra Rib Eye (200grams of Grilled US Beef [Rib Eye] with Balsamic Teriyaki and served with Mashed Potato), Wagyu Beach Burger (200grams of Wagyu Beef Patty Burger, served with French Fries, Segarra Thousand Island and Tartar), even Pasta, to Tomyam, Sushi (Limited Selection for now, but Segarra is going to introduce more quite soon) and the signature Segarra Chili Crab (And FYI, it was highly praised by a French Culinary Expert! Plus, we had tried it ourselves at the Gathering! ).

Good news for parents! Sekitar Juni ini, Segarra juga akan buka Kids' Playground di area pantai sana, dan tentu saja buat menemani si kecil main, Segarra juga akan memberikan penawaran Kids Menu dengan harga terjangkau pula.

Anyway, it's really convenient, you can hold your wedding here, dine here, hanging out with friends, relax, hold your exhibition, have a meeting over here and even go grazy with having a 'partay' here too. Jam buka Segarra sendiri itu setiap weekdays-nya (Sunday to Thursday), Segarra buka dari jam 12 siang ampe jam 12 malam. And as for weekend (Friday and Saturday), it is opened till 2 in the morning.

And Ta-da! Our Food Testing event started exactly after the presentation, and who's hungry?!

As the starters, we got welcome snacks, consist of Garlic Cheese Sticks, Fried Dumpling Layers/Skins, and some crisps.
Then, we got two amazing dishes, Fried Platter and Spicy Tuna Pizza. And not just those! The signature dish from Segarra was there, on the table! 3 portions of Segarra Chili Crab with a couple of Mantao(s), tempting us to steal a bite (not exactly a bite though, you don't want to bite the hard shell, do you?). Well, the surprise continues, and guess what? One of the OpenRicers got a surprise. Segarra prepared the dessert, Chocolate Fondue with 'tricky' candles on top of the puff pastry. Happy Birthday VikyReina! They caught her off-guard.

(Sorry, I am typing a kind of "novel" right now, so forgive me. )Environment
Tentang environment di Segarra Dining, Lounge and Weddings, saya rasa tadi sudah saya tuliskan sedikit yah. Overall, it's an easy A for the ambience and interior. But i gotta say, finding Segarra is pretty hard somehow. Saya saja perlu bertanya di dalam Ancol 3 kali untuk lokasi tepatnya. But when you get there, it's kinda worth it. Segarra is kinda isolated, and a little (it is actually a huge place) unspoilt hidden gem. Sampai di area-nya saja, OpenRicers sudah bisa ngerasa nyaman, menikmati suasana tenang, area luas, desain exterior yang modern and elegant, dan pas sampai didalam, melewati 'terowongan' kecil, kita bisa ngerasain suasana modern classy yang nice banget. It doesn't stop right there. Dari ruangan tersebut, kita bisa jalan menuju bagian outdoor-nya, melewati taman terbuka dan juga bagian indoor lainnya disebelah kanan, melihat outdoor seating ditengah-tengah dan juga Beach Bar exotic diujung kiri dan akhirnya sampai pada area pantai. Di bibir pantai sendiri, Segarra memiliki tempat duduk khusus yang bisa dikatakan sebagai 'Love Seat' juga yah (karangan saya ), dan namanya sendiri merupakan 'Sofa Orbit' since it looks round and shell-like. It's believed as the best spot to enjoy the view. Setau saya juga, untuk duduk di sofa ini, pengunjung harus mencapai minimal payment tertentu pada weekdays atau weekend (yang saya lupa tanyakan pada Pak Ali yah sayangnya ). Segarra memiliki lantai kedua yang merupakan ruangan indoor dengan AC.
Honestly, if you ask me, Segarra is one of the best places with great ambience, interior, and view that I've ever visited. You can relax, enjoy the casual, yet classic ambience, and have some serenity over here. You can forget all the problems you have for a while.
But only one little thing that bothered me that time, it was the mosquito 'attack'. Only that.

Service
Pelayanan disini juga tentunya one of the best yah. Kita dilayani oleh waiters yang profesional, sopan dan ramah, dengan penampilan casual juga. Mereka sangat welcome dengan kehadiran pengunjungnya, sigap kapan saja, tanpa mberikan perhatian yang berlebihan. They sure know about customer's privacy. Guess they were trained for that too.
Awalnya saya karna datang terlambat, saya memesan minuman terakhir dan itu pun juga dihampiri dan ditanyakan oleh salah satu waiter-nya langsung yah. Kita bisa memilih Segarra Sunset ataupun Segarra Breeze. Dan karna saya kurang tau soal minuman apa itu, saya pun bertanya soal rasanya. Setelah dijelaskan bedanya, saya ingatnya saya memesan yang Sunset, namun pas dihidangkan di meja saya, ternyata minumannya tersebut Segarra Breeze. Mungkin saya memang lupa karna disorientasi saya waktu memesan minuman yah. But anyway, Segarra Breeze is awesome. #Spoiler

Segarra BreezeDescription: Cranberry with Orange Leaves, Grapes, Grenadine, and Serai (I've no idea what is Serai in english. haha!)

Minuman satu ini merupakan salah satu andalan Segarra yah dan menawarkan minuman dengan kombinasi unik yang khas. Bahannya sendiri sudah saya jelaskan diatas, dan bagi yang gak tau Grenadine itu apa, itu merupakan sejenis sirup merah yang umumnya terbuat dari pomegranate atau dikenal orang indonesia sebagai delima. Kombinasinya sendiri sangat unik sehingga awalnya, saya sedikit 'shock' dengan wangi serai-nya (karna ada batangan serai sebagai pengaduk minumannya yah mgkn). Serai sendiri dikenal sebagai sejenis tumbuhan dengan bau yang kuat yah, dan biasa dipakai dalam makanan khas indonesia atau bahkan buat mengusir nyamuk. Maka itu pertamanya saya agak tidak terbiasa. But once I got a hold of it, I loved it. Rasanya sangat khas, kuat namun pas, dan kombinasi dari hampir setiap rasa (kecuali pahit yah). It's quite addicted in fact.
Sebaliknya Segarra Sunset yang tidak saya cobai, merupakan minuman dengan Apple-Based Juice, with mint leaves, lime chunks, and vanilli. Katanya juga enak sih, namun saya rasa, saya akan tetap lebih suka dengan Segarra Breeze saya yah.

Fried PlatterDescription: Platter of fried mushroom with mozarella filling, fried calamari, fried prawn with strawberry mayo, spring roll and served with Tartar.

I paid less attention to this menu actually, since the dish was kinda far to reach for me, so I actually got only a taste of the fried calamari which was awesome, the recomended fried prawn with strawberry mayo which was delicious, and a chunk of something I ate but have no idea what it was till now (I said I paid less attention to this platter right? ). For the mushroom, I couldn't get the chance to try them, since the mushrooms were limited and other OpenRicers' instant favourite. (That's the downside for sitting in the middle of long-arranged-table, plus being late. Ha! )

Spicy Tuna PizzaDescription: Italian Style Pizza with melted mozarella, black olives, shredded tuna, and randomly-arranged hot chili.

This is definitely one of the special dishes. This thin crispy pizza easily became the most favourite for OpenRicers and me. I stole two slices of it! ha! (Actually, It wasn't like that. They spared an extra slice for me, I guessed I drooled all over my mouth, and they pitied me ) But really, it's certainly a great pizza. The shredded tuna was great, black olives and mozarella worked perfectly in my mouth, and the random chilies caught me off-guard somehow. It was delicious, and FUN to eat! Recommended for sure!

Segarra Chili CrabDescription: Approximately 800-1000 grams Crab with Sweet & Sour Special Sauce, and served with some Mantao(s).

Here it was, the special dish from Segarra!
FYI, I couldn't eat too much seafood, and since I have this troublesome skin allergy towards seafood and beef, I often avoid myself from eating seafood, finally I managed to dislike it too. But, really. I couldn't say no with this Segarra's Special Dish, a fine jumbo crab with tempting sauce all over it right? I NEEDED to try it, and so, I did...
Guess what, I took one of the claws (or chelae), cracked it and had a taste of the meat, showered with the special sauce, then I fell in love. It's really good honestly, IMHO. The sauce was perfect for me. The combination of sweet, spicy and sour with the mix of egg white was really good. I love pungent (spicy) food. And this dish had enough pungent taste, and it tasted great. Anymore pungent taste added, it would ruin the crabmeat, IMHO. The crab was so fine. However, if possible (or maybe they have the menu already), I would like to have this sauce all over a fried/grilled fish, and I bet it will be awesome as well!
Since I had enough share of crabmeat for the day, I took the Fried Mantao and showered it with the sauce. It suited perfectly! Then I took the Steamed Mantao, and did shower it with the sauce either, then I ate it. It's just okay. So I guessed the Crab sauce goes better with Fried Mantao(s). Eventually, I ate a couple of fried mantao(s) and greatly satisfied my belly.

Chocolate FondueDescription: Platter of Strawberries, Pavlova, Brownies, Puff (Mini Kue Sus), Biscotti, and topped with Puff Pastry (only available as the 'standing ground' of the candles, I guessed)

Who doesn't like Chocolate Fondue? Most people do I bet! Included me. This is a party favourite. I love it when I have to dip the 'dippables' in the melted chocolate, and taste the chocolate inside my mouth melted with the dippables such as fruits, cakes, or something else. That's why I do love the chocolate fondue from Segarra too! I've tried all the dippables, varied from strawberry to biscotti (okay, it's Prato biscuit or simply, biskuit kering), and dipped them with the Swedish Dark Chocolate. Dark Chocolate contains 80% of cocoa percentages and it is believed that by eating Dark Chocolate has some benefits such as lowering blood pressure.
I loved the strawberry, Brownies, Pavlova (a kind of marshmallows with crisp crust and dry texture) and Puff (or what we know as 'kue sus'). Nicely suited with the Swedish dark chocolate. Most restaurants use Belgian Chocolate, but Segarra preferred to be different, so they decided to provide the Choco Fondue with Swedish Chocolate. However, if you ask me, I prefer Belgian Chocolate. Maybe it's because I am used to it. Still, the Chocolate Fondue from Segarra was great! I couldn't hate any chocolate.

Final Conclusion
So, how is my review? Tired of reading it? I'm quite 'writative' (okay, I made up this word to resemble something like 'talkative' but in term of writing..) I know, but I really hope my review can be thorough and helpful, and in addition, sometimes, the experience is just beyond words.

The downsides I could find are just the mosquitoes 'attack' and probably the prices, which are actually quite sensible considering the complete 'package' the will provide you with. Paying for Ancol's entrance fee is a problem as well (one motorcycle and one person will cost you IDR 30 k ). But other than those, I couldn't think of anything else.
Segarra Dining, Lounge and Wedding is definitely one of the best restaurants in Jakarta, providing a complete package of satisfaction factors, including great food, wide selections for F&B, great service, and especially great interior and view (located by the beach), nothing could be better, of course.

The gathering itself was prolly the best OpenRice gathering so far with amazing food and view from Segarra, amazing (new) friends, and amazing OpenRice Crew for sure!
To cut it short, Segarra is already so awesome, yet still has so much potential, and I'd like to give it a Grade A.
As a note, my review above is completely honest (mostly without exaggeration) and really based on my visit at Segarra. I just typed everything I had in my mind (with some jokes of course!).
Will I be back? Yes! Definitely! And in fact, quite soon I guess.
