A few weeks ago, I had dinner with some good friends of mine (freshly found
) at Hanamasa
. Actually there are 8 of us, but then again, for that dinner, only 5 of us could attend there (plus another one, who is Vina’s boyfriend). So, there were Yuli (Baloon Ambassador) and Buby (Bakmoy Ambassador) the first comers that day. Then, Vina (Rainbow Cake Ambassador) and her boyfriend, Apo (Shabu-Shabu Ambassador). after that, me myself (just a commoner)
and lastly, our Soccer Ambassador, Verdi! The others who couldn’t come are Novi, the Socialite Ambassador, and Tikka, our personal Japanese and Lace Ambassador, and last but not least, Lina Martana, the Typo Fairy and most favourite OpenRice crew!! Yuhuu!
Anyway, we started out dinner at around 6.20 and finished sharply at 10 (till it was closed). It was such a fun night, hanging out with them, “cooking” our own dinner, talking non-stop (in fact, we never ran out of topic to talk about), and mostly laughing all the time (laughing was actually the only thing that made my stomach full!)
Our topic varied from FOOD, OpenRice, FOOD, celebrity, FOOD, movies, FOOD, strangers, and FOOD! =))))
Okay then, enough about us! It’s about Hanamasa.
Actually that visit wasn’t our first visit to Hanamasa (obviously). And Hanamasa isn’t our most favourite place for All-You-Can-Eat dinner too. But eventually, this became our choice because it was the nearest place we could gather. And we love AYCE! That’s the reason why we ended up there.
The place itself is pretty good. The most important thing is that the room is clean and comfortable. The ambiance is kinda nice, and it is perfect for friends to gather up and chitchatting while eating. You can always burst up laughing without really worrying that you might disturbing the “neighbourhood”.
For the price, we had to pay for around IDR 120 k per person for dining in Hanamasa Sports Mall, Kelapa Gading. It’s quite a fair price though for all we could get that night, especially since we could sit there and kept eating for almost about 4 hours. We were very satisfied, even though we hope we could sit for an extra one hour. My stomach wasn’t quite full that night despite all the food. I cooked a lot of meat and stuff, but since I always talked (sorry for my big mouth!), my food was all gone right after I decided to eat. So I kept taking meat and kept cooking it and they thought I had this insatiable desire of eating!
(and I blame them for snatching my food!) HAHA!
The facility we got there were Yakiniku and Shabu-Shabu, and that means one Shabu-Shabu Pot and one Grilling Pan. Luckily I sat near the grilling pan. I dislike Shabu-Shabu, so I didn’t touch a single drop of it. Apo, on the other hand, was suprisingly good at eating! I bet he likes almost everything, and has a very good appetite, from the yakiniku to shabu-shabu. For your information, the shabu pot was on the whole other side of the table where Apo and I sat that night. So Apo had to stand up, and walk to the other table where the shabu pot was on. To cut it short, the winner of that day for eating the most food is Apo!! \(^^,)/
For the Yakiniku, I love it. There were a lot of meat provided for us, a lot of variant either. I especially love the beef. They served several kinds of beef, and I happened to ask the waitress the name. There were kebab beef and bulgogi beef (only if I'm not mistaken!
). Both of the beef was very flavorful and it had the right texture without being too chewy and at the same time, it wasn't succulent. The chicken stuff was okay, but I didn't take much. While the fish was kinda nice too. I took some and grilled it there. Here are some of the pictures. From several types of Beef, Chicken to Rollade. Too bad they didn’t provide the name or description next to each meat or food on the food bar in the middle of the room, that’s why I have no idea what they were exactly.
For Shabu-Shabu, they have a lot of choices. Here are some of the stuff you can put in your Shabu-Shabu Pot. Japanese Tofu, Seafood, Fish Ball, to several types of Meatballs. I don't really like shabu-shabu (it burns people's tongues and I always consider that the soup is bland (tasteless). But anyway those are only my excuses to not getting all sweaty and feeling hot eating it
Oh yeah, you can always order the chef around teppanyaki corner to cook something for you. Perdi (our favourite nickname for him) ordered several stuff, like Grilled Sausage with Beef Wrapping (Okay, I made up the name) and Chicken Skewers. Both of them tasted good! The chicken skewers were very delicious and they were cooked perfectly without being overburnt. While the sausages with beef wrappinge were equally great. I ate a lot of those. :9
Since drinks are included, we didn’t have to order any drink at all. We could just get ourselves the beverages provided there, varied from Thai Tea, Cappuccino, Tea, and stuff. I love the Iced Thai Tea! It’s a great drink.
Overall, I could say that I really enjoyed the night at Hanamasa. Partly because of the friends who accompanied me there too! The food was good (not awesome though), the service was quite okay, the place is nice, and all we got that night, worth the price we paid. (however, if there’s a discount, we will be much more happier too
One thing we learned that night is that we can always ask the waitress to change the grilling pan. This information was provided by Apo! =)) And he proved it that night! The waitress changed our grilling pan (though with a very long face)! XD

Hanamasa really is a good place for people to gather around. It has the togetherness atmosphere, and the right AYCE concept especially in the outlets which have included drinks with the package. It is quite cheap if you are a good eater, but for those who eat less, well, you might consider it pricy. Anyway, I really recommend OpenRicers to eat here in this Outlet (Sports Mall). I love the place and the food.
Lastly, though it’s irrelevant, I would like to say that it’s always nice when you meet a certain friends that suited you well, with differences, some same interests and same craziness. Ones who care, and ones that are always there for you. It’s always nice to know that you belong there, with them.
So here we are! Though in this picture, there are only 6 of us. The complete us will be on the next round, which is going to be pretty soon.
