The first Warung Tekko was opened in 2008 in Pantai Indah Kapuk – North of Jakarta, Indonesia. The demand for our quality home-style Indonesian food with both local and international customers has enabled us to expand to more locations. Currently, we are serving authentic Indonesian food from more than 46 outlets across the Indonesian archipelago. As a result, Warung Tekko has become one of Indonesia’s fastest growing locally owned and operated Indonesian restaurants. Sebenarnya, agak berminyak. Tapi untuk rasa bisa diterima. With Love,@husinpengg---semoga semua mahluk hidup berbahagia--- continue reading

Hey OpenRicers, I'm back again to review a restaurant which you might find very unfamiliar, and yes, it's Warung Tekko. Just about a week ago, I was looking for new place to eat, and since I was at MAG, I was kinda pessimistic about it. But then just after a several minutes of walking around the mall, I found Warung Tekkoi which has just opened, so I decided to give it a try there. After all, It's been a long time since the last time I ate at Warung Tekko. Warung Tekko is an Indonesian Restaurant which specializes in Iga Penyet, with quite a lot of branches now. You can find Warung Tekko in a lot of places in Jakarta, for instance Taman Palem Lestari in Cengkareng, in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Pesanggrahan in Puri area, and a lot of other places. So it's quite easy to find the outlets whenever you feel like enjoying some grilled ribs. Other than the ribs, you can find a lot of other dishes, from Fish, Chicken, some Vegetables, to Mushroom. Well, it's a typical Indonesian food, so all you might find are some fried stuff or grilled stuff with some chili. Indonesian food is really quite nice, especially for those who like it hot. The price range of the food here is about IDR 3.5 k to IDR 115 k. Well but actually IDR 3.5 k is only for sambal penyet. And even the Steamed Rice is IDR 4.5 k. For Vegetables, you can find something like Tahu Kipas IDR 15 k and Bakwan Jagung IDR 13 k. And if you like Mushroom, you should try their Jamur Penyet IDR 15 k. While for the recommended meaty dishes, they have Iga Penyet IDR 31.5 k and you could choose the level of hotness. Other than that, you can also enjoy Iga Bakar Bumbu Kacang IDR 34 k, Bebek Bacem Sambal Geledek IDR 38 k, or maybe Gurame Saus Padang IDR 47 k. If you want to have a Value Meal, they also provide us with some choices, with prices from IDR 33 k - IDR 37 k. For example, there is Paket 1 which has included Ayam Penyet (Paha), Iga 1 Potong, Tahu Goreng, Tempe Goreng and Steamed Rice. I think it's quite reasonable. For the drinks, the price range is IDR 5 k - IDR 25 k, from Tea, Juice to Beer. For the ambiance, the place itself is only a medium-sized space I guess. But the interior is much nicer compared to other branches. The inside is quite good and comfortable especially with good decoration. The lighting is great, even though the room is kinda dark, but it actually made the atmosphere warmer. I kinda love the place. For the service, I think the waitresses were very nice, and they were easy to reach. Just with a wave of your hand, the waitress will come to you. But maybe that's because at that moment, there weren't that many visitors. Their manner were good and they were polite in a good way. While for the serving time, I think it's quite short too and we didn't have to wait too long to get our orders done. For a new outlet, I really think they have done a good job. Okay, let's see what I ordered that day for my dinner. :9~ Iga Goreng Tepung ~Price: IDR 34 kThis dish is actually a couple of crispy short ribs with honey mustard sauce as the dipping. So, apparently, for those who order this, won't get any chili. Maybe if you'd like to have the Sambal Penyet, you can order separately with additional IDR 3.5 k. But anyway, I was quite find with only the honey mustard sauce. The ribs here were actually battered and fried to a level of crunchiness. So the outer layer will be extremely crunchy. I have always loved battered food, and here, I love it too. The ribs I got were all boneless, and I got about 4 pieces of short ribs. The outer layer, like I said was very crunchy. It tasted so good, that when I had a bite, I could taste the sensation of the crispiness outside and the smooth and tender texture inside. Yes, the ribs were nicely cooked, and it made this dish really stands out. But the thing is, the honey mustard sauce didn't help anything at all. The honey mustard sauce was only kinda sweet. For me, I really prefer Sambal Penyet and I wish that maybe they can actually replace the honey mustard sauce with Sambal Penyet on this Iga Goreng Tepung. But still, this dish is very recommended. ~ Jamur Penyet ~Price: IDR 15 kThis is always my favourite dish in Warung Tekko. Jamur Penyet is quite similar to Iga Penyet, but without the ribs. The mushroom tasted very nice, and it's also battered and deep fried. The outer layer was quite crunchy but a bit wet, so it wasn't completely perfect, but still, this was quite good. The best thing from this dish is the Sambal Penyet. You can actually taste the penyet with fried mushroom, and it was sooo good. For IDR 15 k, I think this dish really is worth it. And anyway, remember, for the Sambal Penyet, you can always decide the level of hotness, from "Tidak Pedas", "Sedang" or "Pedas". ;)~Es Jeruk Kelapa ~Price: IDR 18 kLike the name suggested, it is actually a mix of fresh Orange juice and Coco. It cost us IDR 18 k, and it's not entirely pricy. I mean, it was served in a big glass, so I think it might be enough for two people. This drink was really refreshing. The orange juice was kinda thick, and it blended well with the coco. It didn't taste too sweet nor too bland. That's why I think it waskinda perfect. The flesh of the coco was there too. So it's not just the coconut milk, but also with the flesh. This drink was very nice! Recommended.Well, that's all for this review. I actually ate them with steamed rice, but of course I didn't have to attach the photo here, right? If you ask me about the facility, they actually have a wifi connection, but dunno why, that time the connection didn't work. We didn't ask the explanation though with the waitress. Other than that, I couldn't think of anything else. Warung Tekko is actually a nice place, especially for this outlet. The Place is very nice, comfortable, with great ambiance, and the service was lovely too. For a new outlet, I think they have succeeded making us happy too that day. The food was delicious and we got no problem at all there. I think probably many people haven't known this outlet yet, since it's located on the 2nd floor. And if you wish to find this place, don't worry, just find Sate Khas Senayan or Tamani. Warung Tekko is only one floor away. For OpenRicers who love Indonesian food, please feel free to come and try their food and drinks here. It offers nice delicious food with reasonable prices, and I think, you might just like it. ;) In Kelapa Gading, other than this outlet, you can also find Warung Tekko (another outlet) in La Piazza. Thanks for reading, and see ya OpenRicers!Best regard,cole_lense | FoodVenturer.me continue reading
