Kazan Ramen originates from Japan, and its international branches are already in Thailand, Singapore, and Jakarta. Kazan? What's "kazan"? Actually it means volcano in Japanese, but I don't have any idea about why they named it "volcano."

We ordered their special ramens (I call them "special" since the other ramens aren't served in this way), and the waitress brought a tray and there were a bowl of rice, a stone bowl, broth in a pot, an empty bowl, and..... A RED METAL FUNNEL?

Then, the waitress demonstrated in front of us how to cook the ramen by ourselves. So, the first thing to do is pour the broth inside the stone bowl, she said not to touch the stone bowl since it was heated until 300' C. Put the red funnel on the stone bowl and wait until one minute, and your ramen is ready!

Look at the smoke, BOOM BOOM! It's like a volcano! So this is the reason why it's named "Kazan."

The ramens? SUPER HOT mwahahaha! We were confused at that time how to eat this super duper hot ramen, it was boiling in front of us. Psst, you can enjoy your ramen in different way by put your rice into the stone bowl, and the ramen turns into "zousui" or "broth rice."

Kazan Curry (Small - Rp 59.800; Large : Rp 79.800)
The noodle served is the thin one; I like this one as it's chewier than the other ramens. The pork meat is big in portion and the slice is thick. But unfortunately, the curry broth is little bit lacking in taste. Wait wait wait, I think the key of enjoying this ramen is waiting. At the first time I taste my Kazan Curry I didn't like it, it was quite bitter for me, but the more it was cooked inside the stone bowl, the curry was more tastier and finally I finished my ramen.

Kazan Shio (Small - Rp 59.800; Large : Rp 79.800)

This one is same with Kazan Curry, but the broth is different, it's savory, milky and salty. Tasted quiet good but somehow I tasted it so salty. Still, I like the consistency of the noodle. Anyway, I had an experiment with adding chilli oil and more salt soy sauce and it helped a lot.

I don't say the ramens were bad, it just didn't suit my palate. I saw a Japanese chef there so I think they serve the authentic ones. smile

I love the level of chewiness of the ramen noodle, and the portion is soooo BIG even I ordered the small one. The service was good! They are helping a lot. Kazan Ramen serves you another new experience of enjoying ramen. I think the ramens are so nice for your Instagram, they're unique!

Hide and Seek Swirlhouse SCBD OK Mar 17, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Barat | Restaurant | Kumpul Keluarga

I love the place, so vintage, jazzy, and it's like entering "The Great Gatsby" movie interior setting..... as the design student, it is simply called "art deco" design. Started taking some pictures, but the manager came to us and said the regulation there not to take the interior pictures with cameras. Hmmph.. I think they lose some opportunities for free advertisement from foodies and bloggers like us.
So we stopped taking the interior pictures, she said we could only took the interior pictures if there was someone inside the photo.

Salted Egg Spagetti with Champignon Mushroom. (Rp 89.000)

At the first time I saw this I didn't think that it used..... SALTED EGG? This fusion spagetti was cooked al dente, so yummy, but you can't taste the salted egg at the very first time you eat it. Served with champignon mushroom, cherry tomato and fresh basil. Recommend you to try this unique spagetti.

Jack Daniel's Coke and Chicken Wing. (Rp 71.000)
The chicken wings are infused with Cola and Jack Daniel's bourbon and glazed with sweet cola, served with orange dipping. Sounds interesting right? But I couldn't taste the Cola or even the Jack Daniel's infusion, the taste was quiet weird for me, So the thing you have to do is dipping the wings into the orange dipping, the chicken taste's becomes so yummy.

Country Side Roasted Chicken Half. (Rp 75.000)
A full body organic chicken served chicken gravy, country potato, and mixed greens. The chicken was easy to cut, and the gravy was yummy! Perfect for sharing, looking from its size.

Capelline Aglio Olio with White Wine Baramundi. (Rp 95.000)
This one is angel hair served with garlic white wine sauce, black olives, dried tomato, and pan-seared baramundi. No exception for this one, both of baramundi and cappelini cooked perfectly. You can choose the alternative menu with king prawn (Rp 125.000).

Pan-Seared Pork Belly. (Rp 137.000)
Pork belly cooked sous vide for 20 hours, served with cider vinegar roasted apple and white beans cassoulet. The taste seems great after you read the previous sentence, right? However, the seasoning wasn't satisfying, I didn't feel anything, but thank goodness the skin's crispiness level was perfect.

Bacon Wrapped John Dory. (Rp 85.000)
MY FAVORITE! Beef bacon served with coriander pesto, rattatouille foam, buttered pasta and seared baby cos. What a great dish, a yummy dory wrapped with beef bacon. So in love with this one. Unfortunately, the beef bacon was little bit salty, but still tolerable. Recommended to try.

Anyway, do you know if Hide and Seek also has a special drink like its name? It's Hide and Seek Special Drink, you can't peep at it as it's full wrapped and you can only sip it from the straw. About the taste? Psst.. it's secret, go and taste by yourself then!

Overall, the foods were great. Super love the interior, especially the installation in the bar wall. But to be honest, the service was bad. At the first time we arrived the manager was little bit unfriendly, especially when she told about the rule of taking pictures of interior. After that, the foods were taking super duper long long time to serve... although they were only us and 2-3 people inside at that time. Nevertheless, the waiters were so nice and always smiling to us. and the most important point here : I couldn't connect to the wi-fi, Recommend you to come here in the afternoon if you don't smoke, the place is quiet empty.

Dill Gourmet Plaza Indonesia OK Feb 28, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Eropa | Kafe | Burger | Dessert | Pancakes / Waffle / Crepes | Kencan / Berpasangan | Hang Out

Located on Plaza Indonesia's basement, the place is located exactly next to the escalator. Never went to there before, but a friend told me it was only a restaurant, so I conclude it relaunched itself with the new concept. The place is super petite (only about 35-40 seats inside), but it seems colorful, homey and such a warm place to have a lunch there or even eat some pastries they sell.

DILL's Chef Salad with Gochujang Dressing. (Rp 55.000)
What a colorful appetizer! Actually I don't eat salad but what I like in this salad that it gives you more sliced eggs and chicken meat. Served with Korean spicy Gochujang dressing, but how spicy it is just depends on your tongue, for me it wasn't so spicy.

Three Treasure Noodle Soup. (Rp 65.000)
A delicious noodle which come with generous slice of meat, I love the soup, tasted good but was little bit salty.

Miso Gindara with Potato Puree. (Rp 95.000)
I recommend you this, but if it's saltiness wasn't too strong. The gindara was moist and good overall but it was too salty, but thanks to the delicious potato puree, I bet you will like it.

Chicken Confit Penne with Soto Cream. (Rp 54.000)
I love this fusion dish so much, cooked al dente with chicken confit and egg as topping, but the taste of soto wasn't strong at all, it would be perfect if the soto taste was stronger.

Nasi Goreng Maranggi. (Rp 60.000)
This one was also delicious! I love the way they used the spices to cook this nasi goreng, the satay was good too and overall I recommend you this.

Black Diamond Waffle (Rp 48.000)
The recommended dessert of Dill. Crispy waffle with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, slices of banana and almonds. Are you wondering why the waffle was black? It used squid ink to color it black, gives you another new experience of eating a waffle.

Island Cake (Rp 50.000)
Island cake is a mango-tasted cake, the texture was little bit rough than the other sliced cakes, but suit for who likes mango cake (gotta buy this one for my mom).

Banana Nutella (Rp 50.000)
Banana Nutella? The combination beetween the fruit I don't prefer and the jam I like, actually the banana taste didn't overwhelm so I still ate this one.

Coffee Pistachio (Rp 50.000)
If I have to decide which one the most I like from the 3 sliced cakes served at that day, I would choose this one, a perfect combination of coffee and pistachio.

Cold Pressed Juice. (Rp 35.000)
Need a refreshment? Go order some healthy cold pressed juice, available in 4 flavors : Power Booster (green apple, arugula and lime), Happy Go Lucky (passion fruit, strawberry, and red apple), Forever Young (beetroot, green apple, lime), and Energy Charger (orange, carrot, and pineapple).

So, don't judge a book by it's cover, it's a petite place but feel so homey and the foods are great. Especially when you're searching cold pressed juice, go pick some in Dill. Kinda recommend you the Black Diamond Waffle if you go here. Thank you OpenRice Indonesia + DILL Gourmet for the food tasting, let's DILL!

Categories : Korea | Rombongan | Kencan / Berpasangan | Kumpul Keluarga

Bulgogi (Rp 59.000)
Bulgogi-nya enak, porsinya sebanding dengan harganya. No exception for me.

Pa Jeon (Rp 38.000)
Katanya sih martabak ala Korea. Nothing's special, cuma telur dadar yang dikocok pakai terigu ditambah isi udang dan cumi + daun kucai. Telurnya juga agak tipis dan hampir tawar.

Ommukoji (Rp 14.000)

Kimbab (Rp 38.000)
Ada 3 varian, dan salah satunya tuna. Slice-nya sih lumayan banyak tapi tipis. Kimbab isi tuna... tapi tunanya tipis banget dikasihnya sampe ga kerasa. Cuma rasa sayur doang. :'''''')

Untuk pelayanan, rasanya kurang sigap dan cepat. Karena pas datang tempatnya agak sepi sih tapi malah agak lama datang makanannya, apa lagi pas kita kira semua makanan udah kelar.... eh baru nongol Pa Jeon, padahal kita semua uda lupa pesen Pa Jeon dan uda mau minta bill LOL.

Expecting more from Ccozi but seems so-so, mungkin kamu kalau mau makan tteobokki bisa ke sini. Tapi kalau menu yang lain semacam ramen kemarin saya mau pesen agak ragu rasanya nanti mirip-mirip ramen instan kesukaan saya. tongue

Mungkin bisa dilakukan perbaikan variasi menu dan servis. Best of luck.

Boo! First Desserting in Sumoboo OK Jan 20, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Dessert | Halal

The place using the fresh colors, combination of yellow and light blue, and mixed with some of Japanese pattern on a side of the wall, ball lamps, woods with light tone stain everywhere. The one you'll quickly notice when you pass Sumoboo : Everything was packed inside even it was weekday!

Boo! Kakigori - Chocolate. (Rp 30.000)
Shaved ice with Milo powder as topping and a scoop of vanilla ice cream added as snout. Hmm, the taste was so-so, it's just a portion of shaved ice with egg pudding inside, the only thing I like just the presentation and a scoop of vanilla ice.

Sumoboo's Grass Jelly - complete toppings. (Rp 38.000)
Ordered the one with complete toppings, it consists : grass jelly, big boba, ice cream, sumobomb ball, mochi, red bean, and taro. You see the one in the center? Yup, it's a shaved ice (again). I think that one is the reason why this dessert isn't as sweet as Hong Tang's. Refreshing, and the toppings were so many. We ate it for three persons and toppings were generous for us.

Buta Naked Ramen. (Rp 38.000)
You can choose the spiciness level from level 0 until level 30. We chose level 10, and thought it was such a problem for choosing level 10 out of 30. The ramen came in quiet small portion, and it didn't came with the soup, kinda like Indomie Goreng at the first time you see it. Super hot! We couldn't taste anything except the texture of noodle, and blackpepper. we suggest to order it on level 5 out of 30, it's enough I think, as we couldn't taste anything except the blackpepper at level 10.

Nutella Bomb Kakigori. (Rp 40.000)
At the first time I saw this one, I didn't see it as the tempting dessert, I LOVE THIS ONE, the ball's filling is Nutella! I think of Nutella ball and ice and also the chocolate syrup are nice combination! The name does show how the nutella bombs and melts inside your mouth. This one is recommended.

Everything was packed inside, so the waiters at the first time didn't serve us well and quickly, we had to call the waiters for twice to order. But, the foods came not in such a long time, and the lag time of serving beetween one food ordered to another didn't need a long time. So about in 20 minutes, our foods were already served on our table, nice job. The foods we ordered was so-so, two of three desserts we ordered were good, and the presentation is cute.
