Categories : Restaurant | Steak & Grills | Hang Out

First time I know Hog's Breath was from a friend who used to live in Aussie for years, he said this one is the Aussie's best steak. When it opens outlet in Indonesia, this one must be the one restaurant I should try. Established in July 1989 in North Queensland, with concept of serving the customers the unique dining experience with diverse menu. With casual dining concept and its speciality in Prime Rib Steak as signature dish, now Hog's Breath are available in over 80 outlets operating in Australia and overseas.

Smoked Pork BBQ Ribs (Half Rack - Rp 178.000)
he meat was tender, juicy, we proofed what Chef Anto said about the speciality of Hog's Breath's ribs, it was so easy to cut the meat from the bones, I love that so much! That was the most exciting part for me and Ci' Wibi, as we whispered each other this one was very scrumptious. Anyway, you can get your full rack portion for Rp 298.000.

Key Lime Cheese Cake (Rp 55.000)
Not an ordinary cheese cake, the lime is added into this cake. The lime taste little bit overpowers the cheese itself, suits for you who doesn't like too sweet cake. Served with ice cream.

Missisipi Mud Cake (Rp 69.000)
A chocolate cake, doused with chocolate and surrounded by liquid chocolate in plate. Nothing too special with the liquid chocolate for me. About the cake, it tasted like brownies, had perfect moist level, and was perfect to be eaten with ice cream.

It has nice ambience (especially at the night), nice hospitality, and the price worths for the foods (depends on my dinner experience). For sure I will visit Hog's Breath again someday to try its famous signature Prime Rib Steak which slow cooked for 18 hours in special oven. Anyone wanna join me? :9

Thank you Hog's for serving us the best hogspitality!

Weekend Brunch in Kitchenette Smile Dec 09, 2015

Categories : Barat | Restaurant | Kencan / Berpasangan | Kumpul Keluarga

SPAM Fries Turkey with Sriracha Mayo (Rp 59.000)

Cocok buat sharing-sharing sama temen.

Fresh Kale Salad (Rp 79.000)
Salad segar buat kalian-kalian pecinta salad, dilengkapi dengan keju kambing, kacang merah, jagung, timun, dan french vinaigrette dressing.

Kitchenette Fish and Chips (Rp 85.000)
Porsinya besar, dan rasanya enak banget, garingnya pas. Disajikan dengan Spicy Coleslaw Lemon Dill Tartar Sauce.

Spaghetti with Giant Silican Beef Meatballs, Parmesan & Wafu Tomato Sauce (Rp 85.000)

Southern Boneless Fried Chicken (Rp 105.000)

Marie Lou Crepe (Rp 79.000)
There is always room for dessert, right?

Kazan Ramen originates from Japan, and its international branches are already in Thailand, Singapore, and Jakarta. Kazan? What's "kazan"? Actually it means volcano in Japanese, but I don't have any idea about why they named it "volcano."

We ordered their special ramens (I call them "special" since the other ramens aren't served in this way), and the waitress brought a tray and there were a bowl of rice, a stone bowl, broth in a pot, an empty bowl, and..... A RED METAL FUNNEL?

Then, the waitress demonstrated in front of us how to cook the ramen by ourselves. So, the first thing to do is pour the broth inside the stone bowl, she said not to touch the stone bowl since it was heated until 300' C. Put the red funnel on the stone bowl and wait until one minute, and your ramen is ready!

Look at the smoke, BOOM BOOM! It's like a volcano! So this is the reason why it's named "Kazan."

The ramens? SUPER HOT mwahahaha! We were confused at that time how to eat this super duper hot ramen, it was boiling in front of us. Psst, you can enjoy your ramen in different way by put your rice into the stone bowl, and the ramen turns into "zousui" or "broth rice."

Kazan Curry (Small - Rp 59.800; Large : Rp 79.800)
The noodle served is the thin one; I like this one as it's chewier than the other ramens. The pork meat is big in portion and the slice is thick. But unfortunately, the curry broth is little bit lacking in taste. Wait wait wait, I think the key of enjoying this ramen is waiting. At the first time I taste my Kazan Curry I didn't like it, it was quite bitter for me, but the more it was cooked inside the stone bowl, the curry was more tastier and finally I finished my ramen.

Kazan Shio (Small - Rp 59.800; Large : Rp 79.800)

This one is same with Kazan Curry, but the broth is different, it's savory, milky and salty. Tasted quiet good but somehow I tasted it so salty. Still, I like the consistency of the noodle. Anyway, I had an experiment with adding chilli oil and more salt soy sauce and it helped a lot.

I don't say the ramens were bad, it just didn't suit my palate. I saw a Japanese chef there so I think they serve the authentic ones. smile

I love the level of chewiness of the ramen noodle, and the portion is soooo BIG even I ordered the small one. The service was good! They are helping a lot. Kazan Ramen serves you another new experience of enjoying ramen. I think the ramens are so nice for your Instagram, they're unique!

First thing first, let's talk how Haagen-Dazs created. Established by Reuben and Rose Mattus in New York in 1961. They made the name sounds Danish so people at that time thought the ice cream was from Denmark, which famous for its dairy product. Well said... the marketing strategy succeeded, and people fell in love with the ice cream. Now you can see Haagen-Dazs in many countries, including Indonesia.

At the first time I thought I would be introduced with new ice cream flavors, until at the moment me and Hans arrived there, we were just told that Haagen-Dazs will introduce us the fusion beverages beetween ice cream and coffee!

Wa, wa, wait... since when does Haagen-Dazs sell coffee?

Huh, never noticed if the coffee products sold in Haagen-Dazs are from Illy Coffee, the famous three generations Italian coffee roasting company which specializing in blended Arabica beans. So at that time we would be introduced the new menu of fusion beverages by Haagen-Dazs and Illy Coffee in Senayan City outlet.

Welcomed by Angga Krisnawan, Brand Executive of Haagen-Dazs Indonesia, and the session opened by Arief Budiman, National Trainer and Quality Controller of Illy Coffee Indonesia, and also a professional barista for 14 years. He presented us the benefits of coffee for health and many more things about coffee, such a nice information to know. He also demonstrated in front of us how to make all of the beverages.

Cookies and Creme Espresso

Cookies and Creme Espresso

Cookies and Cream Espresso (Rp 60.000)
Mr. Arief showed to us how to make this beverage. First, pour a shot of double espresso into the glass and pour blended cookies and cream Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Garnish it with whipping cream, put a cookie and mini scoops of ice cream onto it, and pour some chocolate powder on it. VOILA! You can serve it hot or cold. The taste of espresso is hidden in this beverage since it is more sweet, suit for you who doesn't prefer coffee.
Tiramisu Coffee (wih ladyfinger)

The second one, Mr. Arief showed us to make the famous yummy cake into a beverage. This one tastes really like tiramisu cake, light texture came with balanced bitterness and sweetness. He made many alternatives of this tiramisu coffee with various latte art on it. Unfortunately, this one is not for sell in Haagen Dazs, and only shown for demonstration. Feel so lucky anyway I could taste this one. :')
Iced Caffe Latte

Iced Caffe Latte

Iced Caffe Latte (Rp 26.000)
Espresso mixed with frothy milk. This one is bitter than the first ones since the main composition used only espresso, the adding of frothy milk doesn't make it sweeter anyway since no sugar added, but it makes the taste of espresso milder than the pure one.
Mocha Dreamland

Mocha Dreamland

Mocha Dreamland (Rp 60.000)
What's next? The last one was my favorite!!!! It was a Belgian chocolate ice cream mixed with espresso and coffee jelly, and topped with two mini scoops of ice cream. Look at the photo below, aren't you craving for this one? The cute presentation came with rich flavor, and the blend was sweet yet creamy. My favorite thing was sucking up the grass jelly in the ice cream. Recommended to try!

Haagen-Dazs also held a latte art competition, so there were 3 lucky competitors from us which joined the mini competition. We were shown how to make a latte art by Mr. Arief first.
Why so serious, Mr. Arief?

Why so serious, Mr. Arief?

What latte art should I made?

What latte art should I made?

So happy to taste all of the new signature beverages from Haagen-Dazs, hmm.. but wait....
You still want more, uh?

You still want more, uh?

Literally ice cream partehhh!

Literally ice cream partehhh!

The final dessert at the day was brownies cake with ice cream on top! Available in two variants : vanilla or chocolate. I took the vanilla one, but seemed the flavor was little bit mixed with strawberry. Always love Haagen-Dazs' ice cream, not too gummy yet too airy. Haagen-Dazs was too generous, since we all were already full and planned to share a plate, but they still made us this dessert one plate for one person. THE REAL ICE CREAM PARTY WOO-HOOO!!!!

Overall, the new beverages aren't disappointing. I hope the Tiramisu Coffee will be available in Haagen-Dazs, so whenever I want it I can buy it. *heartbreak*

Feel so lucky to join this workshop, since I never heard that Haagen-Dazs held a workshop except for this one. This one is an new experience since so rare of finding tasting session beside food, and met a lot of new friends in culinary thing. Although this one was the most epic food tasting I ever attend, the place was kinda petite but 30-ish people packed inside the venue feel like a sardine inside the can LOL, but who cares, the more the merrier. #UbiSenang lol

I give a bonus story for you....
At the night, the caffeine made me awake all night until 3 AM HAHAHAHAH since I'd drunk many shots of coffee at that day. Felt little bit exhausted because I had to go to church in late morning and make assignment. Luckily Mr. Arief explained how to reduce the caffeine inside body before the tasting session :
1. Eat banana, it contains potassium which is able to neutralize the caffeine.
2. Drink water in double portion than the coffee you drink.

No no no banana, I don't like it. I prefer drink water as many as I could to eat banana at that night, my stomach was full of water since I drank like a thirsty camel LOL, but thank goodness it worked. You can try this if someday you're still awake because of caffeine.

But if Haagen-Dazs hold another tasting session with lots of caffeine like that again....... SURE I WILL ATTEND IT AGAIN!!! *then prepare a gallon of water first in home before tasting LOL*

The last but not the least,
Thank you OpenRice Indonesia + Haagen-Dazs x Illy Coffee.

Dill Gourmet Plaza Indonesia OK Feb 28, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Eropa | Kafe | Burger | Dessert | Pancakes / Waffle / Crepes | Kencan / Berpasangan | Hang Out

Located on Plaza Indonesia's basement, the place is located exactly next to the escalator. Never went to there before, but a friend told me it was only a restaurant, so I conclude it relaunched itself with the new concept. The place is super petite (only about 35-40 seats inside), but it seems colorful, homey and such a warm place to have a lunch there or even eat some pastries they sell.

DILL's Chef Salad with Gochujang Dressing. (Rp 55.000)
What a colorful appetizer! Actually I don't eat salad but what I like in this salad that it gives you more sliced eggs and chicken meat. Served with Korean spicy Gochujang dressing, but how spicy it is just depends on your tongue, for me it wasn't so spicy.

Three Treasure Noodle Soup. (Rp 65.000)
A delicious noodle which come with generous slice of meat, I love the soup, tasted good but was little bit salty.

Miso Gindara with Potato Puree. (Rp 95.000)
I recommend you this, but if it's saltiness wasn't too strong. The gindara was moist and good overall but it was too salty, but thanks to the delicious potato puree, I bet you will like it.

Chicken Confit Penne with Soto Cream. (Rp 54.000)
I love this fusion dish so much, cooked al dente with chicken confit and egg as topping, but the taste of soto wasn't strong at all, it would be perfect if the soto taste was stronger.

Nasi Goreng Maranggi. (Rp 60.000)
This one was also delicious! I love the way they used the spices to cook this nasi goreng, the satay was good too and overall I recommend you this.

Black Diamond Waffle (Rp 48.000)
The recommended dessert of Dill. Crispy waffle with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, slices of banana and almonds. Are you wondering why the waffle was black? It used squid ink to color it black, gives you another new experience of eating a waffle.

Island Cake (Rp 50.000)
Island cake is a mango-tasted cake, the texture was little bit rough than the other sliced cakes, but suit for who likes mango cake (gotta buy this one for my mom).

Banana Nutella (Rp 50.000)
Banana Nutella? The combination beetween the fruit I don't prefer and the jam I like, actually the banana taste didn't overwhelm so I still ate this one.

Coffee Pistachio (Rp 50.000)
If I have to decide which one the most I like from the 3 sliced cakes served at that day, I would choose this one, a perfect combination of coffee and pistachio.

Cold Pressed Juice. (Rp 35.000)
Need a refreshment? Go order some healthy cold pressed juice, available in 4 flavors : Power Booster (green apple, arugula and lime), Happy Go Lucky (passion fruit, strawberry, and red apple), Forever Young (beetroot, green apple, lime), and Energy Charger (orange, carrot, and pineapple).

So, don't judge a book by it's cover, it's a petite place but feel so homey and the foods are great. Especially when you're searching cold pressed juice, go pick some in Dill. Kinda recommend you the Black Diamond Waffle if you go here. Thank you OpenRice Indonesia + DILL Gourmet for the food tasting, let's DILL!
