It so easy to come here, I just went by public car I stopped in front of my residence and it only took around 15-20 minutes without traffic to stop here. It was located in the main road so I easily recognized it. It has a semi open kitchen outside and a spacious indoor place to eat, with lots of simple but unique decorations that kinda reminds you of enjoying the seafood by the shore.

Sambal Arjuna (Rp 5.000 / item)
Arjuna provides lots of variations of sambals which YOU COULD MIX IT as you want!

Clockwise from the hand : Petis, Dabu-Dabu, Terasi, Rica-Rica, Acar Mangga, Rujak

Seafood Asem Pedes (Rp 110.000)
Soup with asem (sour) and spicy (pedes) taste, it's quiet similar like Thailand's Tom Yum Goong. Love this one, and the prawns were given generously.

Kepiting Soka (Rp 45.000 / ounce)
Soft shell crab cooked which tasted so crispy and tender, and you'll taste the sensation of salted egg melts inside your mouth. Recommended one!

Udang Pacet Bakar Madu - Large (Rp 29.950 / ounce)
Not too interesting in presentation, but this one is too damn delicious to be missed! Little bit sticky, but the taste was delicious since it's roasted perfectly with honey.

Kakap Merah Goreng Asam Pedas (Rp 22.500 / ounce)
Red snapper fish with spicy and sour seasoning, I love this fish since I just pick the meats easily without wasting time. Crispy yet tender, and love the seasoning!

Cumi Mediteranian (Rp 47.500)
Fried battered squid, it's like another squid in other restaurants, but this one, the squid is sliced bigger and crispier.

Kepiting Bakar Saus Padang - Large (Rp 34.950 / ounce)
Eating seafood isn't complete without a large crab on your table! Here's roasted crab with Padang sauce, you could eat this easily since they provided crab breaker on your table. But too be honest, I don't prefer this crab cooked with Padang sauce, the taste didn't suit my palate and I felt the sauce little bit bitter in my mouth.

Kepiting Bakar Rempah - Large (Rp 34.950 / ounce)
However, if you still wanna eat some roasted large crab, I recommend you to order this roasted crab with spices. This one is better in my opinion if compared with Kepiting Bakar Saus Padang, more spices to make your tongue dances!

Kudu-Kudu (Rp 19.900 / ounce)
I saw the chef in the kitchen cleaned the fish, but only the skin, without the meats. I didn't have any idea what they would do with the skin, since I asked them to do some activity in kitchen to be photographed, I thought they were just acting to clean the fish so they used the fish without meat. And here's the answer, the most unique presentation of seafood I ever see! Cooked with spicy sour seasoning, and some crispy flakes. Recommended!

Clean and spacious place, with air-conditioned room is a plus thing to enjoy your seafood here, and noted this one is a so-family-place to eat. Most of all the sea foods are good, and they serve lot of unique beverages, try their Dead Sea drink!
The last but not the least, thank you Seafood Arjuna for the food tasting session, makes us some foodies like a real big family enjoying seafood. smile

First thing first, let's talk how Haagen-Dazs created. Established by Reuben and Rose Mattus in New York in 1961. They made the name sounds Danish so people at that time thought the ice cream was from Denmark, which famous for its dairy product. Well said... the marketing strategy succeeded, and people fell in love with the ice cream. Now you can see Haagen-Dazs in many countries, including Indonesia.

At the first time I thought I would be introduced with new ice cream flavors, until at the moment me and Hans arrived there, we were just told that Haagen-Dazs will introduce us the fusion beverages beetween ice cream and coffee!

Wa, wa, wait... since when does Haagen-Dazs sell coffee?

Huh, never noticed if the coffee products sold in Haagen-Dazs are from Illy Coffee, the famous three generations Italian coffee roasting company which specializing in blended Arabica beans. So at that time we would be introduced the new menu of fusion beverages by Haagen-Dazs and Illy Coffee in Senayan City outlet.

Welcomed by Angga Krisnawan, Brand Executive of Haagen-Dazs Indonesia, and the session opened by Arief Budiman, National Trainer and Quality Controller of Illy Coffee Indonesia, and also a professional barista for 14 years. He presented us the benefits of coffee for health and many more things about coffee, such a nice information to know. He also demonstrated in front of us how to make all of the beverages.

Cookies and Creme Espresso

Cookies and Creme Espresso

Cookies and Cream Espresso (Rp 60.000)
Mr. Arief showed to us how to make this beverage. First, pour a shot of double espresso into the glass and pour blended cookies and cream Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Garnish it with whipping cream, put a cookie and mini scoops of ice cream onto it, and pour some chocolate powder on it. VOILA! You can serve it hot or cold. The taste of espresso is hidden in this beverage since it is more sweet, suit for you who doesn't prefer coffee.
Tiramisu Coffee (wih ladyfinger)

Tiramisu Coffee
The second one, Mr. Arief showed us to make the famous yummy cake into a beverage. This one tastes really like tiramisu cake, light texture came with balanced bitterness and sweetness. He made many alternatives of this tiramisu coffee with various latte art on it. Unfortunately, this one is not for sell in Haagen Dazs, and only shown for demonstration. Feel so lucky anyway I could taste this one. :')
Iced Caffe Latte

Iced Caffe Latte

Iced Caffe Latte (Rp 26.000)
Espresso mixed with frothy milk. This one is bitter than the first ones since the main composition used only espresso, the adding of frothy milk doesn't make it sweeter anyway since no sugar added, but it makes the taste of espresso milder than the pure one.
Mocha Dreamland

What's next? The last one was my favorite!!!! It was a Belgian chocolate ice cream mixed with espresso and coffee jelly, and topped with two mini scoops of ice cream. Look at the photo below, aren't you craving for this one? The cute presentation came with rich flavor, and the blend was sweet yet creamy. My favorite thing was sucking up the grass jelly in the ice cream. Recommended to try!

Haagen-Dazs also held a latte art competition, so there were 3 lucky competitors from us which joined the mini competition. We were shown how to make a latte art by Mr. Arief first.
Why so serious, Mr. Arief?

Why so serious, Mr. Arief?

What latte art should I made?

What latte art should I made?

So happy to taste all of the new signature beverages from Haagen-Dazs, hmm.. but wait....
You still want more, uh?

You still want more, uh?

Literally ice cream partehhh!

Literally ice cream partehhh!

The final dessert at the day was brownies cake with ice cream on top! Available in two variants : vanilla or chocolate. I took the vanilla one, but seemed the flavor was little bit mixed with strawberry. Always love Haagen-Dazs' ice cream, not too gummy yet too airy. Haagen-Dazs was too generous, since we all were already full and planned to share a plate, but they still made us this dessert one plate for one person. THE REAL ICE CREAM PARTY WOO-HOOO!!!!

Overall, the new beverages aren't disappointing. I hope the Tiramisu Coffee will be available in Haagen-Dazs, so whenever I want it I can buy it. *heartbreak*

Feel so lucky to join this workshop, since I never heard that Haagen-Dazs held a workshop except for this one. This one is an new experience since so rare of finding tasting session beside food, and met a lot of new friends in culinary thing. Although this one was the most epic food tasting I ever attend, the place was kinda petite but 30-ish people packed inside the venue feel like a sardine inside the can LOL, but who cares, the more the merrier. #UbiSenang lol

I give a bonus story for you....
At the night, the caffeine made me awake all night until 3 AM HAHAHAHAH since I'd drunk many shots of coffee at that day. Felt little bit exhausted because I had to go to church in late morning and make assignment. Luckily Mr. Arief explained how to reduce the caffeine inside body before the tasting session :
1. Eat banana, it contains potassium which is able to neutralize the caffeine.
2. Drink water in double portion than the coffee you drink.

No no no banana, I don't like it. I prefer drink water as many as I could to eat banana at that night, my stomach was full of water since I drank like a thirsty camel LOL, but thank goodness it worked. You can try this if someday you're still awake because of caffeine.

But if Haagen-Dazs hold another tasting session with lots of caffeine like that again....... SURE I WILL ATTEND IT AGAIN!!! *then prepare a gallon of water first in home before tasting LOL*

The last but not the least,
Thank you OpenRice Indonesia + Haagen-Dazs x Illy Coffee.

The interior is kinda like art deco interior with gold and little touch of green from the plants. Seems unique since I never see interiors with art deco style with green color palette. There is separation beetween the non-smoking and smoking section, we chose to be in smoking section since it was located next to window. Hmmm, you know, it's the favorite spot for foodie to take great pictures. smile

Yeah, in my opinion,
Publik Markette is also a innovator for touchscreen technology in hi-end restaurants.

Seriously, don't take it too serious. I mean..... just touch the glass display and point at glass whatever you like, and the foods will be picked up for you by the waiter HAHAHA! However, Publik Markette reminds me of my favorite "warteg" near my campus. :')

So, this is how if Ismaya runs a warteg, and it must be an elite "warteg" like this. However, they call this canteen food display as "Food Gallery". Go to the food gallery with the number on your table, then pick everything you want in the gallery, let your foods ordered input in cashier and just sit and wait until your foods will be delivered on your table.

Pump Up The Beet (Rp 38.000)
Girls, order this one if you care about having a smooth and nice skin. It might be an ordinary purple juice at the first time I looked at it, but it's a mix of beetroot, pineapple, orange which contains more vitamin C and antioxidants. Tasted great.

Tropical Sunrise (Rp 38.000)
Mixed juices of greens, pineapple, cucumber, lemon and honeydew. Sounds healthy!

Spanish Chocolate Tart with Extra Virgin Oil and Sea Salt (Rp 50.000)
An unique chocolate cake with caramel and some thick chocolate layer. Love the texture and taste the chocolate cake differently as it's little bit salty.

Crack Pie (Rp 55.000)
This one is super recommended by me, served with caramel and chocolate sauce topping makes it the most tempting one. I lose words for describing this, how about tasting it by yourself? ;)

Pumpkin Pie (Rp 55.000)
Not too sweet, but you may try it if you love pumpkin pie. Not a big fan of pumpkin, even it's made into a cake.

Nasi Briyani with BBQ Beef Brisket and Yorkshire Pudding. (Rp 155.000)

The BBQ Beef Brisket is soooo tender, easy to cut, and I love the seasoning. Perfect to be eaten along with your Nasi Briyani. Anyway, you see a bread comes with the Nasi Briyani? It's Yorkshire Pudding, however it doesn't taste like ordinary bread. Crispy outside and the texture is soft and kinda bland inside, I bet you'll like it, yummy!

BBQ Pork Corstone (Rp 80.000)
Never saw a bread with pork topping like this haha, the bread is crispy and the pork so tender! Non halal.

Balinese Corn (Rp 20.000)
Corn with spicy Balinese seasoning, tasted so Bali when you ate this. My friend who didn't like eating spicy things said it was super hot, so I suggest this one if you're a spicy foods lover, like me. Actually I didn't feel the corn was hot.

Crispy Pork Belly (Rp 155.000)
Remarked this one as one of the best pork belly in town, comes with lovely juicy texture and perfect seasoning. What could I say? SCRUMPTIOUS! Recommended one to order! Non halal.

Bacon Mac and Cheese (Rp 40.000)

Expecting much from this, but however this tastes so plain for me, like cooked without seasoning. Hmm.. I even didn't notice if there was a bacon inside.

Herb Rotisserie Chicken Half (Rp 115.000)
Best food to share with your friends, the chicken was juicy and tender, easy to cut and the came in generous portion of meat. The seasoning for me is not too strong, so I recommend you to eat this one with chili sauce served along the chicken.

Bet you'll quickly love this place, great interior comes with great service from the chef, waiters, and even the manager. Frankly speaking, the foods are kinda pricey, but most of all food we tried came in big size and so goddamn scrumptious!!!! Really, I'm not exaggerating. And be patient to be in waiting list. smile

Actually we got surprised in Publik Markette since all the foods above are complimentary from the manager, so we actually had a second impromptu food tasting at that day. The last but not the least, thank you for Raynald, manager of Publik Markette for the great service and experience in Publik Markette.

Hide and Seek Swirlhouse SCBD OK Mar 17, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Barat | Restaurant | Kumpul Keluarga

I love the place, so vintage, jazzy, and it's like entering "The Great Gatsby" movie interior setting..... as the design student, it is simply called "art deco" design. Started taking some pictures, but the manager came to us and said the regulation there not to take the interior pictures with cameras. Hmmph.. I think they lose some opportunities for free advertisement from foodies and bloggers like us.
So we stopped taking the interior pictures, she said we could only took the interior pictures if there was someone inside the photo.

Salted Egg Spagetti with Champignon Mushroom. (Rp 89.000)

At the first time I saw this I didn't think that it used..... SALTED EGG? This fusion spagetti was cooked al dente, so yummy, but you can't taste the salted egg at the very first time you eat it. Served with champignon mushroom, cherry tomato and fresh basil. Recommend you to try this unique spagetti.

Jack Daniel's Coke and Chicken Wing. (Rp 71.000)
The chicken wings are infused with Cola and Jack Daniel's bourbon and glazed with sweet cola, served with orange dipping. Sounds interesting right? But I couldn't taste the Cola or even the Jack Daniel's infusion, the taste was quiet weird for me, So the thing you have to do is dipping the wings into the orange dipping, the chicken taste's becomes so yummy.

Country Side Roasted Chicken Half. (Rp 75.000)
A full body organic chicken served chicken gravy, country potato, and mixed greens. The chicken was easy to cut, and the gravy was yummy! Perfect for sharing, looking from its size.

Capelline Aglio Olio with White Wine Baramundi. (Rp 95.000)
This one is angel hair served with garlic white wine sauce, black olives, dried tomato, and pan-seared baramundi. No exception for this one, both of baramundi and cappelini cooked perfectly. You can choose the alternative menu with king prawn (Rp 125.000).

Pan-Seared Pork Belly. (Rp 137.000)
Pork belly cooked sous vide for 20 hours, served with cider vinegar roasted apple and white beans cassoulet. The taste seems great after you read the previous sentence, right? However, the seasoning wasn't satisfying, I didn't feel anything, but thank goodness the skin's crispiness level was perfect.

Bacon Wrapped John Dory. (Rp 85.000)
MY FAVORITE! Beef bacon served with coriander pesto, rattatouille foam, buttered pasta and seared baby cos. What a great dish, a yummy dory wrapped with beef bacon. So in love with this one. Unfortunately, the beef bacon was little bit salty, but still tolerable. Recommended to try.

Anyway, do you know if Hide and Seek also has a special drink like its name? It's Hide and Seek Special Drink, you can't peep at it as it's full wrapped and you can only sip it from the straw. About the taste? Psst.. it's secret, go and taste by yourself then!

Overall, the foods were great. Super love the interior, especially the installation in the bar wall. But to be honest, the service was bad. At the first time we arrived the manager was little bit unfriendly, especially when she told about the rule of taking pictures of interior. After that, the foods were taking super duper long long time to serve... although they were only us and 2-3 people inside at that time. Nevertheless, the waiters were so nice and always smiling to us. and the most important point here : I couldn't connect to the wi-fi, Recommend you to come here in the afternoon if you don't smoke, the place is quiet empty.

Dill Gourmet Plaza Indonesia OK Feb 28, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Eropa | Kafe | Burger | Dessert | Pancakes / Waffle / Crepes | Kencan / Berpasangan | Hang Out

Located on Plaza Indonesia's basement, the place is located exactly next to the escalator. Never went to there before, but a friend told me it was only a restaurant, so I conclude it relaunched itself with the new concept. The place is super petite (only about 35-40 seats inside), but it seems colorful, homey and such a warm place to have a lunch there or even eat some pastries they sell.

DILL's Chef Salad with Gochujang Dressing. (Rp 55.000)
What a colorful appetizer! Actually I don't eat salad but what I like in this salad that it gives you more sliced eggs and chicken meat. Served with Korean spicy Gochujang dressing, but how spicy it is just depends on your tongue, for me it wasn't so spicy.

Three Treasure Noodle Soup. (Rp 65.000)
A delicious noodle which come with generous slice of meat, I love the soup, tasted good but was little bit salty.

Miso Gindara with Potato Puree. (Rp 95.000)
I recommend you this, but if it's saltiness wasn't too strong. The gindara was moist and good overall but it was too salty, but thanks to the delicious potato puree, I bet you will like it.

Chicken Confit Penne with Soto Cream. (Rp 54.000)
I love this fusion dish so much, cooked al dente with chicken confit and egg as topping, but the taste of soto wasn't strong at all, it would be perfect if the soto taste was stronger.

Nasi Goreng Maranggi. (Rp 60.000)
This one was also delicious! I love the way they used the spices to cook this nasi goreng, the satay was good too and overall I recommend you this.

Black Diamond Waffle (Rp 48.000)
The recommended dessert of Dill. Crispy waffle with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, slices of banana and almonds. Are you wondering why the waffle was black? It used squid ink to color it black, gives you another new experience of eating a waffle.

Island Cake (Rp 50.000)
Island cake is a mango-tasted cake, the texture was little bit rough than the other sliced cakes, but suit for who likes mango cake (gotta buy this one for my mom).

Banana Nutella (Rp 50.000)
Banana Nutella? The combination beetween the fruit I don't prefer and the jam I like, actually the banana taste didn't overwhelm so I still ate this one.

Coffee Pistachio (Rp 50.000)
If I have to decide which one the most I like from the 3 sliced cakes served at that day, I would choose this one, a perfect combination of coffee and pistachio.

Cold Pressed Juice. (Rp 35.000)
Need a refreshment? Go order some healthy cold pressed juice, available in 4 flavors : Power Booster (green apple, arugula and lime), Happy Go Lucky (passion fruit, strawberry, and red apple), Forever Young (beetroot, green apple, lime), and Energy Charger (orange, carrot, and pineapple).

So, don't judge a book by it's cover, it's a petite place but feel so homey and the foods are great. Especially when you're searching cold pressed juice, go pick some in Dill. Kinda recommend you the Black Diamond Waffle if you go here. Thank you OpenRice Indonesia + DILL Gourmet for the food tasting, let's DILL!
