If you’re looking for a nice, super affordable place to eat dessert in Grand Indonesia, I think Petit Julien is the right choice. The location is on the lower ground, next to the supermarket and also Kinokuniya book store. This place is not big at all, and only a few seats (maybe max 20 seats?) and all arranged for 2 until 5 people per tables.

I’ve known this place online, and the comments about the place is great, so many people love the waffle here, since it’s also the main menu of this place.
Belgian Waffle , ChocoChip – IDR 30,000

The difference between the waffle is that, the one I ordered only has 1 pieces, but it’s big and crunchy. The other type, which is Brussels (if I’m not mistaken) has 2 small pieces and very tender. So it depends on you, which one do you prefer, the warm and tender or the crunchy wafer.
As a dessert lover, I must say that I really love the taste of the waffle. It’s match with the ice cream, the crumbs, and also the chocolate sauce. Super delicious and I just couldn’t stop eating it again and egain!
Chocolate Mousse – IDR 20,000

Here’s the better news, they’ll add 20% discounts after 7 p.m if you order this menu. I don’t know if this is still valid until now, but you might want to ask the crew there. Lumayan kan dapat diskon ? ;)
So yes, the chocolate mousse will only become 16,000 !! Super great, right? It’s really creamy, a true comfort food for me. I’d like to order this one again if I’m around Grand Indonesia.
Service

The crews there are really friendly and kind. They took our order nicely, and also make our order pretty fast. When I ask one of them for a spoon to eat the chocolate mousse while walking around the mall, she also directly give it to me with smile.
Ambiance

A great place for those who want to hang out alone or maybe 2 – 3 persons, more private, tetapi tidak menjebolkan kantong! It’s also a hidden location, and there’s not much noise here.

Hotel Bumi Surabaya offers an affordable price for each person.

It's only IDR 168,000 (disc 30& off) and you can enjoy eating in 3 Restaurants! (Kizahashi, Arumanis, and The Indonesian food in front)

During my 3 times visit, I ever sit inside Arumanis, in Kizahashi, and then in the back side of Arumanis. Overall, I'd suggest you to sit in Kizahashi, because the area is more comfy and elegant.
I never try to sit outdoor, because the wind is too strong and it's a bit hot.
If you take dinner, maybe outdoor is better so it will be more romantic.
For your information, the two restaurant (Arumanis and Kizahashi) are connected. So if you want to go inside out, no need to go outside, and then walk a bit further. You just need to go into this hallway, and then found the Kizahashi sign outside.
Let's begin the review!
I will start with Kizahashi

Representing the name, Kizahashi means a Japanese restaurant.
There are 3 main large table where you can found a grill table, and soup table
In the grill, there are meat, 2 kinds of chicken, vegetables, and fried rice.

Overall, I think the chicken taste better than the meat. The meat is kinda cold and not warm enough even though the chef grill it in front of you.
Also, be prepared to queue, especially at weekend, since this grill spot is become a favourite spot of the customers.
In soup, there are cawan mushi, miso soup, noodle with soup, red meat, boiling vegetables, and fried tempura.

I love this table side very much! Especially, because the red meat is just too yum!
The noodle soup is also really delicious. The Tempura is really crunchy and a must grab. Be prepared to queue again and fight for your Tempura if it's on weekend. Hahahaha. Unless, you go a bit earlier than the others so that you can grab it in peace and get a bunch Tempura for your tummy.
I prefer the soup table rather than the grill one.
Moving on to Arumanis.
There are Chinese food, Indonesian food, drink selections, and fruits.

Honestly, I don't really like the Chinese food here.
For the Indonesian food, I never tried one because what they offer here is not my favourite Indonesian food.
They have a very wide selection of Indonesian traditional food (Ceker, Pepes, Babat, others) and the customers can order Rujak and Gado-Gado also here.

For the drink selections, I've tried all of them, and I'd suggest you to take the Strawberry Tea. Believe me, it taste really good and also sweet!
Moving on to the last and biggest part, which is the outdoor.

The outdoor one also offers a wide selection of Indonesian food and also blend with omelette, and western dessert such as pudding.
I'll start from the left side (in front of Arumanis)
On the stall 1, you can found Omelette. You choose the fillings of the omelette. There are cheese, mushroom, onion, vegetables, and others.
Same like the others, if there are too many people queue, you can order first, leave it, and take it later on. It's also for the customers own convenience.
Next to it, there is a waffle and ice cream stall. Here, you can choose three options of ice cream, vanilla cookies, chocolate, and chocolate chilli.
I most favorite one is the vanilla cookies, but you must grab it fast because it also gone really fast!
I don't recommend the chocolate chilli because the taste is just too weird.
After that, you can also choose toppings with peanut, chocolate wrinkles, and cheese. Also some syrup, maple, strawberry, chocolate.
My suggestion, give it cheese and peanut, taste awesome!
The third one provide Sate Ayam, Sate Kambing and also some selections of Tempe Rice, and other kind of Rice.
I love the Sate Ayam! 1 portion only consist of 5 Satay, so if you want more just say the number directly to the chef, for example 15 satay, please.
Fourth one is the fried Indonesian food. There are Tahu Isi, Tempe Goreng, Spring Rolls, and others. It's not that interesting and also not that tempting. I only tried the Spring rolls and taste fine, but not great.
The fifth one is Indonesian traditional snack.

You can pick whatever snack you want. My suggestion : try the Terang Bulan with Pandan and cheese or the regular one, also the little snacks which I don't even no the name (Shame on me, yes, because I'm an Indonesian people, hahaha!)
Taste great with a wide range of selections!
The sixth one is the pudding and also ice selections.

There are varieties of pudding, but I still can't find the one that I truly love.
For the ice, try the pudding ice (you will get a matcha ice cream too) and also the es campur.
If you take dinner, then you can also taste the Wedang Ronde and Jahe (ginger base dessert soup)
Moving on to the upper part near the outdoor seats.
Here, they offer selections of steam Indonesian food such as Ketela, Pisang (Banana), Rice, and others.
Also, you can taste Soto Ayam, Bakso, and ordered Indonesian fried noodle or fried rice.
The Soto Ayam, Bakso (pick the Bakso Kasar) and fried noodle is highly recommended!
For those who love spicy, try the spicy fried noodle. It's yum!
Service
All of the crews and chefs are super friendly and attentive. They also could remember our order. Yes, we could order first to them and then leave it, come back to it again later on when we already finish eating the other dish.
Ambiance

A really great restaurant with 3 different kind of ambiance. Overall, I'm truly satisfied eating here! Especially since I eat three times in a week, hahahaha!
A great choice if you go with family, colleagues, and friends.

Bali is the best place to hang out and sunbathe. There are lots of restaurants or clubs in Denpasar, Bali that looks like super ordinary from the outside, but really jaw-dropping at the inside. One of the examples is Potato Head Beach Club, on Petitenget area. I think they’re still under construction and haven’t finished building the place, but they already open for public.

You could only see some doors and windows, stacks into one pieces, become a strange wall. You’ll walk through some aisles along that stacks of doors and windows to come inside. When you turn your head to the right... the view is mind blowing!
They have this super large open area in the middle – completed with a stage, pool, and pool bar, and of course, a place to sunbathe plus having a drink / meal together. It’s really crowded there, but they have lots of crews that will immediately served you guys.
Heineken - IDR 55,000

The best thing to enjoy while sunbathe and hanging out with friends is Heineken. It’s a super light beer – with a super low alcohol, I think not even reaching 5%.
Stark - IDR 55,000
Same with Heineken, it’s also a super light beer, with different brand. Stark is an overseas one.
Rocket Juice - IDR 45,000

Don’t worry, if you don’t like beer, than you could order their fresh juice.
Pisang Cooler - IDR 50,000

Who loves banana? Banana is one of my favorite fruit. Taste really nice, and you need to zip it quickly before the juice melts and that delicious taste gone.
Lemon Juleb - IDR 45,000
Taste a bit sour but refreshing. Enough to wake you up!
Service

The crews are really nice. They don’t rush in taking the orders or clearing our glasses. They just let us enjoy our time there. Two thumbs up for that one!
Ambiance

We were offered the upstairs sitting area, which was really nice. We could sunbathe and enjoy ourselves there. Even though there’s no music, only couches and our friends, but the atmosphere is really cozy and comfortable. We stayed there until the sunset comes, and it’s super beautiful! What a well-spent evening in Potato Head Beach Club.
Stay awake for another food journey!

Located inside Century Hotel, Dapour is one of restaurant hotel buffets that serves a delicious, yummy, Indonesian food that will not disappoint your taste. Not so long ago, I had a chance to try the Dapour restaurant with other foodies friends.

Per pax - start from IDR 218,000 (Buffet, All you can eat)

Dapour restaurant mainly served Indonesian Dessert. Food like Soto Mie, Sop Iga, Sate Ayam, even Gorengan like Tempe Mendoan and others could be find here. Yes, if you love Indonesian food, then this place will be like a paradise for you.
Even Dapour staffs there said that a lot of Regional Minister all over Indonesia wants to stay in Century Hotel just because of they love the food served in Dapour!
In this Ramadhan month, Dapour also serve a lot of traditional snacks and dessert such as Bubur Madura, Klepon, and other yummy Indonesian dessert.

My favorite menu here in Dapour is the Sop Iga! Trust me, the ribs are super duper tender. If you love to eat chilli, then you should request bunch of chilli to pour inside the soup.
My second favorite menu after Sop Iga is the Nasi Padang, especially the Rendang. It’s really well cook, super tender, and the gravy… nendang abis deh!!

My third one is the dessert. They offer lots of small Indonesian cakes like Martabak Manis, Pohong, - even there’s dodol - and I really love all of it.
Well, basically all of their menus are my favorite. Of course, because it’s Indonesian food! *Proud of Indonesia*

Ambiance
It’s so elegant and lavish inside Dapour. I really love to enjoy my food with this kind of ambiance. It makes me enjoy the food even more. If you’re a smoker, then you could eat your meal peacefully in the bar just next to Dapour restaurant. The lighting is awesome, and they also offers range of mocktails, cocktails, and other kinds of beverages. Just tell the barista what do you want ;)
The unique thing about Dapour, they’ll rotate the Indonesian menus so the customer wouldn’t get bored. For example, this week theme is Makassar Food. Then, the week after the theme might be about Betawi Food, and so on, and so on. I just wish I could try their Makassar Food, especially my favorite dessert, Es Palu Butung!

Stay awake for another food journey!

THE INTRODUCTION
The name of Halo Niko! is implying to the Chef / the owner of Halo Niko!, which is Niko. It is a Greek combined with Javanese restaurants that is owned by a couple. The chef, Niko, is originally come from Greece and his wife, Mbak Kika is from Java, Indonesia. The one who design the super cute, cozy, plus homey interior of Halo Niko! is Mbak Kika. There are a lot of favorite spots that I super love here.

Besides Halo Niko! they actually have another place just right next to it, which is Kembang Kencur plus a clothing store. The place in Kembang Kencur is bigger than Halo Niko! So if there’s customer who wants to held some events, they can use Kembang Kencur rather than Halo Niko!

If you take a look carefully, Halo Niko! use the “Teko” ornament, hanging on the wall as a lamp. Besides the function which is a water storage, “Teko” in Javanese languange means “Come” so they believe that more people will come to the restaurant.
THE MAIN COURSE
1. Souvlaki Chicken

Caution: BIG PORTION!!
Believe me, it’s totally huge! It’s like a Kebab, but very much larger and it uses prata bread to wrap the fillings and the prata is not fried.
The fillings itself consist of Chicken (slices, just like Kebab Meat), vegetables (Tomatoes, etc), mayonnaise. The taste is super delicious! Even though I’m not a veggie, but I eat all the vegetables inside it! Just imagine, the taste must be so incredible, LOL.
2. Greek Salad

Unfortunately, I don’t try this one because I’m not a fan of salad and vegetables. Yeah, I’m rarely eat vegetables *the blame is on me, I know*
3. Mama Moussaka

I think this dish is THE WINNER! It’s similar to a lasagna, but it’s much more delicious than lasagna, believe me. With the cheese covering the super tender beef and other stuffs inside, it’s really mouth watering. You can eat it with the sweet casava. Again, even though I’m not a veggie, I eat the eggplant inside the moussaka! Yes, it is my first time ever to eat an eggplant, can you believe that? I’m also so proud of myself right now, hahaha!
THE DRINK
Vanilla Lime
This drink taste like a melted pudding. Even there’s lime in it, you can barely taste it, which is really nice for me! Totally a refreshing one.
What I really love here is that the food doesn’t use MSG at all. It’s all home made, so be patient while waiting for the food, okay? Just relax and enjoy your time here like you’re home!

P.S : I really love the slogan, Halo Niko! Banyak Makan, Banyak Teman ! smile)

Stay awake for another food journey!
