Salmon, Unagi dan Tuna ala Midori Smile Mar 28, 2013

Berhubung saya dan pacar udah janjian mau ngerayain anniv dengan makan yang banyak Salmon, akhirnya terpilih lah makan di salah satu restoran di daerah Menteng, Midori.

Ini tempatnya enak ga terlalu rame, yang dateng biasanya juga orang kantoran buat ketemu client. Tempatnya bersih banget dan saya suka dengan pelayannya yang cepat tanggap.

Setelah menunggu pesanan, akhirnya tiba yang dinanti-nanti :

 
Cold Ocha
Cold Ocha nya standar teh Ocha sih tapi yang ngebedain presentasi nya yang menarik dan mesen 1 Cold Ocha seharga 10 ribu bisa untuk berdua loh

 
Chirashi Midori
Nah menu makanan yang satu ini satu set terdiri dari Tuna, Salmon dan Rumput Laut. Sebenernya menurut saya ini enak. Ga terlalu banyak tapi ngenyangin loh ! Cuma mungkin menurut saya kekurangannya di mayonnaise nya ga enak jadi bikin rada asem. Well, 1 set makanan lezat dan bergizi ini di bandrol dengan harga 69 ribu

 
Unagi Maki, Salmon Maki & Salmon Sashimi
Untuk Unagi isi 3 dan Salmon Maki isi 6 nya menurut saya enak banget. Tergolong Perfect untuk pecinta Sushi lol Ga amis dan pas komposisi ny. Sedangkan untuk Salmon Sashimi nya agak ga enak karena sedikit asem, cuma bisa ngenyangin perut banget karena potongannya gede tongue
Untuk Unagi Maki harganya 25 ribu sedangkan Salmon Maki 37 ribu. Kalo Salmon Sashimi nya 57 ribu

Overall, Puas banget deh makan disini. Walau duit keluar banyak, tapi ga akan menyesal !
Oh iya, harga diatas belum termaksud Tax 10 % dan Service Charge 5% yah lol

Mexican + Korean = Excellent !! Smile May 26, 2013

Restaurants that serve Mexican Food have been growing up lately. You can almost find it easily and it has started to become a trend in Jakarta. But have you imagine a Mexican food make fusion with Korean food? Well, you can find this unique combination in Mojo kitchen and bar .

The idea of making this restaurant is formed when the owner, Steven Odang, lived in LA. Most of the food in LA is Korean and Mexican food. Thus, the idea of combining both of Korean and Mexican food has become appealing to the owner. I thought for the first time that Mojo was taken because the owner loves to watch Powerpuff girls and inspired by the monkey villain character tongue Apparently I'm wrong since Mojo actually has a definition of sexual charm, maybe the owner would like to bring out our inner sexual charm from the food that the restaurant has created and serves.

 
In front of the restaurant door, we are shown by its “hospitality” which described by “Mojo reserves the right to refuse entry to guest who are not properly attired.” Well, to look at the bright side of it, at least we won’t find any of the improper dress that we usually find in 7/11 or some shitty place.

 
When you first step in into the restaurant, you will have the impression of simple but appealing places. Chairs and tables are dominated by wooden furniture. For the wall, it was dominated by wooden wall and blackboard that filled with pictures and illustration. Vintage feeling is strong in here, for sure. In one of the wall, there is a slogan which sounded “Eating is a part of life you should get the best” I considered it as a challenge, so without further ado; bring it on!!

 
1. Raining on Madeira (Rp30.000)
The taste of cucumber juice that dominates this drink makes us feel fresh and refreshed. This drink is mixed with Lychee juice, Lychee Syrup, a slice of lemon, sugar, and Lychee! Perfectly fitted to drink when you’re thirsty and in need of some refreshing taste.

2. GSL (Rp25.000)
Stand for Guava, Strawberry and Lemon, which is blended in this drink. On top of it, they put a slice of strawberry to make the appearance more appealing. The taste is good and delightful. A Ladies drink, I believe so.

3. La Ramalas (Rp25.000)
A peach mix with fresh sugar, white lime and soda. Not too sweet, balanced perfectly and the peach really makes the drink more appealing. I fall in love with La Ramalas!

4. Port O Pi (Rp25.000)
Fresh ginger mixed with lemon grass, slices of lemon and soda. Very gingerly feel and fitted for the oldies and fan of ginger drink. Old but Unique!

 
Classic Taco (Rp50.000)
We are opted to choose between Chicken / steak / Chorizo for the filling. There’s also Pico de Gallo, Guasacaca, Jalapeno relish and taco sauce in the filling. Well, it’s quite good, only to my disappointment, it came in small size,true, it was served in 2 for 1 portion, but still,..

 
Korean Style Taco (Rp45.000)
In this dish, you can feel the fusion of Mexican & Korean Cuisine. The Taco is filled with cucumber pickles, pork belly, cabbage, and Kimchi. I repeat, Kimchi !! So in this menu the outlook is taco but inside you can feel the sensation of Korean Cuisine. It tastes lovely and creamy. A Must try Taco! It’s so innovative smile

 
Mojo Fried Rice (Rp45.000)
Fried rice with short ribs, green peas, Diablo Sauce, Mojo Verse and soft-boiled duck egg. When I cut the egg, the yellow part meltdown through the rice which is increase my appetite. The ribs is so tender and delicious while the fried rice itself taste awesome and a must try for Fried rice lovers. If I may, I recommend this menu when you came and visit Mojo.

 
California Cheese Burger (Rp55.000)
It’s just another cheese burger with side dish of French fries. The fries taste so so while the best part in this menu will be beef. It’s thick but soft and delicious. The others are nothing special.

 
Kimchi Spaghetti (Rp45.000)
This is what we called “When East Meet West”. Spaghetti mixed with beef bacon & Chili Padi Crumb. What makes it more interesting was on the top of it they give fried quail eggs and sea weed. From all the menu they served, this menu was the best in presentation. The spaghetti seasoning taste really delicious. I was wondering, what’s happening? Why all the food in here taste really great?

 
Korean Chicken Wings (Rp35.000)
When I bought chicken wings, I got a free blackberry !! Nah, just kidding. It’s just by coincidence I took the picture next to my friend’s blackberry. The Chicken Wings mix with Gochucang Glaze Seasoning, Sesame Seed & Chili Flakes. It taste so familiar with Chitato, that I feel like eating a chicken wings poured and sprinkled with Chitato's seasonings.

 
Chipotle Glazed Herb Chicken (Rp55.000)
Lime-cilantro Rice served with glazed carrots and char scallions Vinaigrette. The chicken meat is quite tender and perfectly cooked. The taste of the chicken is very interesting to try since we can’t find it in any other restaurant. In this menu also, this is the first time for me to try Lime-cilantro Rice.Which tastes a lil bit sour--in a good way, of course.

They kept their restaurant hygiene very well and the waiters are kind and helpful towards the guest in here.

After all, the challenge to get the best in food which is written on Mojo’s Wall is success. Major admiration towards the restaurant covered me after eating in this restaurant. A must visit restaurant when we are around Senopati Area smile

Pulau Dua Restaurant berdiri dari tahun 1990. Banyak para politis yang doyan makan disini. Sebut saja Bu Mega, Alm. Gusdur, alm. Bu Tien dan Effendi Simbolon. Restaurant nya sendiri menawarkan Chinese food yang khas dan jarang ditemui di resto lain.

 

 
tempatnya sendiri luas banget, terdiri dari kumpulan gubuk untuk tempat makan. Tempat yang cocok untuk acara ulang tahun, arisan atau makan bareng keluarga.

Banda Sweet Memories
Cocktail campuran antara Bacardi + cointreau + lime + Grenadine + milk. Rasanya manis dan soft.

 
Nias Blue Heaven
Bacardi + lime + orange + Pineapple. Rasanya agak strong dan tidak terlalu manis dan menjadikannya sebagai cocktail favorit saya disini smile

 
Es Kopyor
Campuran susu dengan Kopyor original yang rasanya enak banget! Buat yang dateng kesini, wajib banget nyobain minuman yang satu ini. Two thumbs up !

 
Brokoli Jamur Hitam
Brokoli yang dicampur dengan saos tiram, chop bawang putih dan jamur shitake ini rasanya enak. Saos tiram nya berasa lengket di brokoli sehingga buat yang kurang suka sayur, bisa jadi makan makanan sehat ini smile

 
Cumi Goreng ala Pulau Dua
Dibalik presentasi yang kurang menarik, cumi yang digoreng crispy dan dicampur dengan saos madu ini rasanya juara banget. A must try for everyone!

 
Tahu Hidangan Laut Piring Panas
Basic nya sih menu ini hampir sama dengan sapo tahu. Mungkin yang bikin menarik karena dihidangkan di hotplate. Seafood yang dipakai itu cumi, udang dan ikan kakap. Untuk tahunya, mereka pake Tahu Jepang. Kacang Kapri + cabe merah jadi pelengkap buat side dish ini. Overall, rasanya enak kok. Tahu Jepangnya berpadu banget dengan seafoodnya.

 
Ayam Goreng Pulau Dua
Ini adalah menu andalan utama disini. Ayamnya sendiri mereka memakai ayam import yang direndem terlebih dahulu dengan air cuka, lalu digoreng. Setelah itu, ayam ditaburi sejenis abon yang terbuat dari daun bawang, bawang goreng dan wijen. Rasa nya manis dan asam. Sebenernya menurut saya, ayamnya sih biasa aja, tapi abon nya itu yang luar biasa enak.

 
Gurame Bakar Cereal
Gurame yang dibakar dengan campuran daun kare, irisan cabe rawit dan taburan cereal. Rasa asin, manis dan gurih menyatu dalam masakan ini. Porsinya sendiri cukup besar, bisa untuk 3-4 orang.

Jika untuk makan dengan keluarga, saya sangat merekomendasikan restoran ini. Rasa yang nikmat bercampur dengan suasana alam terbuka di tengah penatnya kota Jakarta menjadi restoran ini menjadi pilihan yang pas untuk warga Jakarta.

Alcoholics bar is the only place where you can “eat” an Alcohol. It’s quite an original thing because you can’t find any other restaurants that have this interesting and unique concept.

After a great experience in my last visit, I have decided to take another dinner at Alcoholics. The main reason I’m coming there was to actually tried their new signature cocktail made by Carson Quinn. For those who doesn’t know who he is, he is a master Mixologist formerly from New York, London, Thailand & now came to Indonesia to launch a signature cocktails for Alcoholics Bar.

 

 
The Environment was quite romantic. With a dim lightning and such a cool place, This place suited for romantic dinner or for people who just wanted a quality time with their wife, girlfriend or friend (with or without benefit). Some quotes about alcohol also decorate the wall which is making me love this place even more.

Well, I don’t know who’s this Good-looking-Asian-man, he’d probably be the owner or the manager in charge, but he welcome me really nice and warm. He asked me “What do you want to eat?” and I just said “chicken and salmon would be nice” and then he give me some recommendation of what should I choose to eat.

This is not a fast food restaurant. Don’t expect the food come in few minutes. Even for the drink, it will approximately take around 10 minutes before it comes down in your table.

 
Spring Dew (Rp80.000)
Have you ever imagine of drinking Chrysanthemum ? No? Me neither. But you can find it in Alcoholics as they mix it with Vodka & Tonic water. It has a soft textures and I think it’s a nice ladies cocktail. The only minus point in this drink is that I’d rather have this drink without having any of petal stuck in my teeth. It’s is kind of inconvenience for me.

 
Sherlock Holmes (Rp120.000)
A mix of Gentleman Jack, Early Grey Tea infused with Simple Syrup, Orange Zest, a drop of Angostura and a surprise alcohol. Guess what? This is my favorite one, Absinthe! Absinthe, as known as La Fée Verte (The Green Fairy), is kinda hard to find in Indonesia. Only a few restaurant / bar served this “fairy”. It is also banned in some country in Europe in 1915 due to the percentage of the alcohol that reached up to 74%. This drink tasted really strong and certainly has its own charm. I never had such a good cocktail in my life and it’s worth every cent. Perfecto!

 
Mojito Chicken (Rp68.000)
I agree to eat this food since Mojito is my favorite cocktail (before I discover Sherlock Holmes). 200gr grilled chicken breast glazed with rum, basil and mint salsa verde, served with chips and mix vegetables. The way they presented this food is interesting. They stack their potatoes to look like a ladder and they’ve putted the chicken on top of it. It is delicious and the meat has such a tender textures.

 
Bloody Mary Salmon (Rp98.000)
Grilled 200gr Salmon steak, topped with Vodka Tomato Sauce, Worchestire sauce and Tabasco, serve with Creamy Mashed Potato & Mix Green Salad. The salmon is so soft and the mashed potato tastes superb. Too bad the sauces taste kind of sour, so I choose not to eat the salmon with the sauce.

 
Baileys Ice Cream (Rp30.000)
As a dessert, it taste really good. You can feel the sweetness of baileys in this scope of ice cream. I recommend this ice cream as your dessert whenever you come and drop by to Alcoholics.

They kept their restaurant hygiene splendidly and the waiters are kind and helpful towards the guest. After I ate all of this alcohol meals, this good-looking-Asian-man asked me how about my dinner experiences. All I can say is that I truly enjoy every single part of my dinner and I thanked him for making it such a wonderful experiences. Alcoholics really made my day. My big thanks goes to Openrice to Introduce me to this Alcoholics Bars.

Denger cerita dari temen, katanya Schnitzel di Harvest Depok enak. Langsung deh meluncur kesini mumpung deket rumah.

First of all, saya baru tau kalo The Harvest punya menu dine in. Selama ini yang saya tau, mereka hanya jual cake dan spesialisasi mereka memang disitu. Tempatnya sendiri di Margonda deket lampu merah Juanda.

Salah satu alasan besar saya untuk tidak makan di Depok adalah tempatnya yang panas! Tapi stigma itu semua berhasil dipatahkan oleh Harvest Depok yang berhasil menghadirkan kesejukan di kota Depok. Tata ruang yang artistik dan wangi cake yang terus menerus menari di hidung saya membuat saya betah untuk berlama-lama disini.

Pelayan disini ramah dan baik, sedangkan kebersihannya lumayan juga kok.

Setelah menunggu 15 menitan, datang menu yang ditunggu-tunggu.

 
Chicken Schnitzel [55K++]
Chicken Schnitzel itu salah satu menu terkenal di Eropa khususnya Jerman. Schnitzel sendiri dibuat dari Ayam yang (rumornya) dipukul-pukul dulu sampe rata dan empuk, lalu dicelupkan ke telor, terigu dan bread crumbs lalu digoreng crispy deh. Schnitzel disajiin dengan sambal dan french fries. Rasanya? Mantep! Speechless deh sama menu yang satu ini. Ga salah deh direkomendasiin sama temen saya dan skarang tugas saya merekomendasikannya ke temen-temen openricers smile
