It's been a long time since I have gone to Mall Taman Anggrek and I could see there were many new restaurants have opened their outlet here. Having heard about this restaurant before, we decided to have a dinner at Popolamama. The restaurant is located on the fourth floor, exactly next to Sticky and if I'm not mistaken, the place was once occupied by Ajisen Ramen. Popolamama is an Italian restaurant originated from Japan, and it has specialty in serving Italian Fresh Pasta & Homemade Pizza.

The restaurant has open kitchen concept with a clean kitchen and experienced staff. (their hands were moving pretty fast when they're preparing the dish!) The restaurant itself is quite big, I reckon they can accommodate up to 80 people. The decoration was simple yet elegant, various cooking utensils were used as decoration in this restaurant. It was super crowded at that time, maybe because it's weekend, and we had to wait for 10 minutes before we got seated.

Let's get started with their fresh pasta and homemade pizza!

Neapolitan with Chicken Sausage Pasta (IDR 52k)

This one was served along with huge chunks of chicken sausage and topped with tomato-based sauce. The pasta itself was really great, I could tell that it was really fresh. The sourness from tomato-based sauce was really well-adjusted, it was not overly sour yet still had strong hint of tomato flavor. Overall, this menu tasted pretty decent, the chicken sausage was nice though I'm not really impressed.

Wafu Soy Sauce Based Pasta with Smoked Beef, Spinach and Rucola (IDR 52k)

This one was served along with slices of smoked beef, spinach and rucola (or arugula) and this one tasted super delicious. I would say this one was one of my favorites dishes that day. The smoked beef was thinly sliced and tasted heavenly delicious. The spinach and rucola tasted pretty decent though I'm not a big fan of green things and the sauce was just perfect!

Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Popolamama, the food they served was pretty delicious and some were extraordinary, the service was really friendly and quick, and the price was quite affordable as well. Will there be next visit to Popolamama? I would say absolutely yes, Popolamama definitely become one of my favorite Italian Restaurants in Jakarta!

Grand Indonesia Shopping Town is one of the largest malls in Jakarta and it's always packed with people especially on weekends. Not a big fan of crowded restaurant, I searched for a calmer and less crowded restaurant that day and my eyes went to the signage of this restaurant, Mama Malaka. Judging from the name, you can tell that this restaurant is specialized in serving peranakan cuisine. I have been craving for peranakan cuisine so much and I haven't found decent restaurant that served great peranakan cuisine in Jakarta, so I decided to give Mama Malaka a try!The restaurant itself is quite big and spacey, I reckon they can accommodate up to 100 people. The interior was simple and it gives off cozy and homey ambiance. Thankfully, It was not really crowded that day, so I got seated as soon as I entered the restaurant. But unfortunately, I got a seat near the corner of the restaurant where the lighting is not really great and I was striving to take a great food pictures that day. Despite the bad lighting, I felt quite satisfied with my pictures and I hope all of you will love it as well!

Let's get started with the foods!

Roti Tissue (IDR 29k)

Roti Tissue or Tissue Prata is usually called as thinner version of Roti Canai, it was a unique and intriguing dish, I believe almost all table ordered this Roti Tissue at that time. The bread was super thin and it was crispy in a good way, it was a little bit salty (I reckon they used butter on the bread) and sweet because there were sprinkles of sugar on the top of the bread. The combination of sweetness and saltiness was just perfect and it was nice to have this menu as snack. The portion itself was (once again) huge, and I really love the presentation of this dish!

Crematology Coffee Roasters is a coffee shop owned by Mr. Elliot Davernas.

The owner was there at that time and he was sharing his interesting story and journey until he decided to open coffee shop in Indonesia named Crematology Coffee Roasters. The coffee shop itself is a little bit hard to find, you have to pay full attention to see the signage of this coffee shop. The interior itself is really intriguing and gives off cozy ambiance, it is mostly dominated with decorations that are made from wood. The place itself is not really big, I reckon they can accommodate up to 60 people. They have two kinds of dining area which is the indoor seating area and outdoor seating area. Thankfully, the event took place at the indoor seating area because I couldn't imagine if I have to sit at the outdoor seating area because it was freaking hot that day and I didn't see anyone dare to sit at the outdoor seating area.

Let's talk about their food!

Turkey SandwichThe Turkey Sandwich was presented nicely on a wooden cutting board and served along with french fries and fresh garden salad. The turkey itself was really fresh and tasted pretty delicious and I love how they added super good melted cheese on the sandwich. The french fries was really awesome as well, it was crispy and perfectly seasoned, not to mention they are pretty generous in giving the fries!

(Do you like teddy bear?) If yes, then you really have to visit this uber cute cafe which is located at Puri Indah Mall, Hans & Belle. You will find a lot of cute stuffs and teddy bears here, there are some sitting on the chair, some hanging on the ceiling and some are trapped on the display. I went to Puri Indah Mall with my family to find a nice place to hangout that day and because we already had our dinner before, we decided to pay a visit to this cafe only to try their desserts and beverages (at first), but we ended up ordering some side dishes. (I just can't stop eating recently!) The cafe itself is not really hard to find, especially with those bright signage and cute interior, it is located near the food court area at Puri Indah Mall. The cafe itself is quite big, I reckon they can accommodate up to 50 people, the seating are mainly divided as seating for 2 people, 4 people and 6 people. The decoration is mostly filled with teddy bears and other cute stuffs such as mini-train, I couldn't stop taking pictures of the decoration because it was so intriguing and cute. If I'm not mistaken, every table had one teddy bear which will accompany you while you were here, I got a cute brown-colored teddy bear on my table. It was quite crowded at that time, we have to wait for several minutes before we got seated.

Let's talk about their foods!

French Fries (IDR 18k)

Unfortunately, some menus were out of stock that day, so we only got a limited choices of menu and we ended up ordering French Fries. Thankfully, their french fries was not disappointing at all, the fries was nicely seasoned, had a perfect level of crispness and not oily at all. Even my parents acknowledged that their french fries was delicious. (woo-hoo!)

Djournal Coffee is a coffee shop managed by Ismaya group, it has 3 branches which are located in Cilandak Town Square, Puri Indah Mall and Grand Indonesia. I went to the one at Grand Indonesia and I was quite surprised to find out that the coffee shop was super packed with people. (I even saw some people were waiting because the place was full at that time) Nevertheless, I still decided to give this coffee shop a try.

Djournal Coffee is located on Ground Floor of Grand Indonesia Shopping Town and I reckon you won't have any difficulties in finding this coffee shop. The interior was decorated nicely and it gives off cozy ambiance, the coffee shop itself is quite big and they have outdoor and indoor area, I reckon they can accommodate up to 100 people.

Without further ado, let's talk about their coffee and snack!

Bitter Sweet Love (IDR 31.8k)

The Bitter Sweet Love is a cake made from chocolate cream and chocolate cookie. It tasted pretty delicious for me, it was not overly sweet and had a strong chocolate flavor. The crust was a little bit hard and it was quite difficult to cut the cake because of the crust. Nevertheless, the crust was crispy enough and I love how the inner layer of the cake was soft and fully filled with chocolate.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Djournal Coffee, the coffee and food they served here tasted pretty decent, the service was quite friendly and they provide a nice and cozy place even though the ambiance was a little bit crowded compared to another coffee shop considering it is located in one of the largest shopping malls in Jakarta. To be honest, I prefer quite coffee shop rather than crowded one, because I always think a coffee shop is a place to find serenity and peacefulness. I guess I might be back to have their nutella blast for takeaway!
