Dimsum, Dimsum and Dimsum!
There's a fact about me that most of my friends already know, yes, I'm a Dimsum-Lover
!! Well, who doesn't?
I don't know when did it start, but ever since then, Dimsum is a must-eat food every month (for me lol). I've tried several Dimsum Restaurants in Jakarta, from the ones on the streets to the restaurant at Malls, and some of my friend just said "Why did you do that? Dimsums are just the same all over the place", oopss.. Definitely Incorrect! How do I know that? Let's talk about it while we review Dimsum King at Manhattan Hotel, Kuningan.
Before we talk about Dimsum King, let's find out a bit about Manhattan Hotel. Manhattan Hotel is a part of Sunlake Hotel Group, the group consist of 4 hotels that are Sunlake Hotel, Manhattan Hotel, Merlynn Park Hotel & Metro Hotel, the first three are located in Jakarta while Metro Hotel is in Semarang. Manhattan Hotel is a 5 star hotel located in Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio Casablanca, Kuningan, not far from Kuningan City. You can easily find this place because it is next to Casablanca Tunnel, the famous one.
Manhattan Hotel is a new Hotel, and so does Dimsum King since this restaurant took place in the Hotel Building, precisely at 5th Floor. Since the first time you entered the place, you can feel the strong Chinese ambience, I mean it's more like Gong Xi Fat Choi decoration with the red lanterns hanging all over the place. But not just that, there are also some statues like Buddha & Guan Yin, and not to forget, Chinese Musics! A complete package, right? Anyway, Dimsum King is an All you cat eat restaurant! But not just Dimsum, you can also find Shabu-shabu and other Chinese foods
So, let's review the taste!Chicken Shumai
This is my most favorite kind of dimsum, especially the one with prawn. Too bad this one only has chicken as the filling, and the taste was Ok, nothing really special, they should make another variant like Crab, maybe?
Second-most-favorite kind of Dimsum! Some people just hate it, but for me, this one is so yumm!! But one thing that sure, you have to eat this while hot (or at least warm lol).Chicken & Prawn filling rolled in Beancurd skin
Seriously I don't know the shortest name in English haha, well, another most-favorite kind of Dimsum! If you don't really like steamed-Dimsum, you surely have to order this, I love the crunchiness and of course the prawn :9Porridge
As I told you, they don't just serves Dimsum but also other Chinese foods like this one. Not only chicken topping, there's also crab mince as topping, an unusual option for me. Well the texture of the porridge is quite good, not too soft nor hard.Shabu-Shabu
Another unusual option in an All-you-can-eat Dimsum restaurant, Shabu-shabu. There are 2 kind of broth, Tom Yum and Chicken. I tried the tom yum and the taste wasn't strong enough to be called Tom Yum. And the filling options are not much, mostly veggies. But for me, this Shabu-shabu option really adds the value of Dimsum King.Fried Rice
As a Fried-rice lover, I honestly disappointed with the fried rice they served. It tasteless and less-filling, really not my cup of tea.Desserts
For the desserts, they have some snacks and fruits that you can choose freely (of course!
Overall, I like Dimsum King. But I think they still need some improvements, especially for the Fried Rice. And for IDR 129k (promotion rate), it is worth it. I recommend you to enjoy Dimsum King with your family or friends, because the ambience is warm and located in a strategic place. Or maybe you can have a Staycation in Manhattan Hotel? Such a good idea!

Let's Ngombe Kopi!
('Excuse me' in Javanese Language), How are you guys doing?
I'm sure most of you guys already know Bengawan Solo Coffee
, me and my friends usually shortened it as 'Bengsol
', which is easier to call. Bengawan Solo Coffee started their first store at ITC Kuningan in May 2003
, it was only take-away service at first but they grew bigger and bigger until they have more than 30 branches in six provinces in Indonesia, which are Jakarta, East Java, West Java, Yogyakarta, North Sumatera and Banten. Then, what makes Bengawan Solo Coffee special compared to its competitors(I don't have to mention it right..)?
First, Bengawan Solo Coffee is experienced in producing coffee for more than 30 years
. Second, most of its coffee Ingredients are from Indonesia, wow! Third, some of the stores are open 24 hours! And last but not least, it tastes awesome!
Well that's a brief information about Bengawan Solo Coffee, now let's talk about the event they held.
ONE FINE DAY
The theme of this event is 'ONE FINE DAY
with Bengawan Solo Coffee', means that we'll always have a fine day every time you enjoy Bengawan Solo products
But that's not a lie, because every time I enjoy Java Avocado, it makes me feel like I'm in Heaven lol. Back to the event, there are lots of fine games to do, such as Quiz, Latte Art Tutorials, Instagram Photo Competition, and 3D Latte Art tutorials & competition.
3D Latte Art
from David Roy Indonesia
gave us the useful tutorials about Latte Art
& 3D Latte Art
, he is a professional Barista with an excellent hand and taste of art! He makes it looks easy while we were struggling so hard to make a proper 3D Latte Art, but Thank God my team won the 3D Latte Art Competition
(sadly I don't have the photo) lol.
Anyway, don't you curious about their Coffees and other drinks?
I said 'Other drinks
' because they don't just serve Coffee, but also the other kind of drinks and foods as well! There are 4 variants
of products they serves, Espresso Based Coffee, Non-Coffee, Ice Blended
, and Finger foods
, but in some stores you can find Main Course foods.
For the Espresso based Coffee, I put Vietnamese Milk Coffee
on my top list and Java Avocado
for the Ice Blended because it taste awesome for sure! You can actually feel the avocado taste in the first sip :9
For the Non-Coffee list, I like their Tea Tarik
and Assorted Tea Line
because they use Dilmah Tea. My favorite Finger foods from Bengawan Solo Coffee is their Sate Pisang, too bad that I haven't had the chance to try their main course, so far I know they serves Javanese Ramen, Java Steak, etc.
Other than the menu they serves, I also like their store. First thing is the comfy Sofa, and the second most important is Electrical outlet LOL, Sssstttt
I've ever stayed the night at Bengawan Solo Cofee FYI
, cooperating with Bank Danamond, they held a program called "Danamon Coffee for Free
". You can get minimum discount of 50%
or even 100% (FREE)
with just using Danamond Card. Wow!
What are you waiting for? Visit the nearest Bengawan Solo Coffee and enjoy the authenticness. Let's Ngombe Kopi! #NgombeKopi

This time I'm gonna review a restaurant named Dolar Shop Resto, yes it's a restaurant not a money changer Dolar Shop Resto
is a Chinese Restaurant
located in Mediterania Apartment, Gajah Mada
. A Chinese Restaurant? Why would they use 'Dolar' then? Don't ask me, I don't really know since they are still using Rupiah for the payment
Eh, I'm kidding! Don't take it seriously. So as the owner said, Dolar came from the word 'Doulau', while 'Lao' means fishing in Chinese, it is mean to bring the luckiness. Dolar Shop Resto was first founded in Macau, specializing in Chinese Shabu-Shabu.
Dolar Shop Resto puts its position as a Casual Dining Restaurant
, once you enter the restaurant you'll see a spacious room with the glamour interiors. I love how they setting the lights, it looks so natural. Want a higher class? Dolar Shop Resto also has VIP, VVIP and other private rooms that are very elegant.
This time, I tried their Set Lunch C
that you can enjoy for IDR 175++
Here's what you will get from that Lunch Set :* Spicy Fish Soup
* Mix Ball
* Special Mixed Beef
* Fish Fillet
* Mix Tofu
* Oyster Mushroom
* Mix Vegetable
* Fresh Egg
* Handmade Mie
* Ice/Hot Tea
Most of Shabu-shabu restaurants only give you three choices of broth, but no here in Dolar Shop Resto, You can freely choose from NINE (9) Broths!
There are original, tonic, tonic mushroom, curry, tomato, spicy, spicy fish, special fish, tonic fish.
That's not the only special thing about Dolar Shop Resto, another one is that they produced some of the ingredients as well! Some of them are the Mix Balls and Handmade Noodle. See? Even the noodles!
So as you can see from the package, there are many fillings like mix balls, mixed beef, fish fillet, mix tofu
and others. Oh, I tried their original broth which was really nice! It was rich of taste, it wasn't tasteless as I expected. The veggies were really fresh
, well most of the ingredients were fresh tho, I can really tell! Me and my friends's favorite is the noodle, really nice I guess because it's homemade. It didn't get swollen easily even if you put it too long in the boiler (I do not suggest it, tho).
They serves you 2 kind of tofus
, Original and Korean Tofu. I prefer the Korean one, it looked and tasted like sponge! (no kidding) The meatballs are their speciality, there were Soft and Miched meatballs that time, all of them tasted fresh and mouthwatering me indeed! Especially if you enjoy it with the beefs which you can choose from beef and lamb meat
, they're served as thin slices so it's getting cooked up really fast. And to complete it all, don't forget to pour the egg into the boiler and stir it well! Yummm :9
It is not stop in here! Wait until you see the choices of the sauces, it's Heaven! Ssst, I tried to make a sphagetti-like with the noodles and the sauces haha. I really love the meat sauce, and the other one that looked like dimsums sauce.
After reading my review, I don't think that there's a reason for you to not visit Dolar Shop Resto soon!For more reviews clickhttp://www.dmangakaz.com

This time I'm gonna review a Japanese Restaurant
that is not only specializing their menus in Ramen but many other japanese-foods, yay! You guys must have known Ippudo
, right? Located in the 5th Floor Pacific Place, this restaurant is quite easy to find.
This restaurant basically serves authentic Japanese foods, and most of the ingredients are from Japan as well. For the place, it is spacey and looks more-like modern instead of Classis japanese restaurant that fully made of wood. Ippudo wants you to feel the elegance yet classic ambience with their dim-light. I saw a small Private room in the corner, I guess you can book it for a small-party-like.
Oh, Ippudo originally come from Fukuoka, Japan. And now they have branches in all over the world, even UK and USA! Great isn't it? For me, that's a really big achievment for such a restaurant! It means that they have profesionality and you can easily see it from their hospitality if you ever have had a chance to pay a visit.
My visit to Ippudo was to try their new menus that hasn't been served to the public. I tell you again, it's just no ramens So let's see!
Deep-Fried Squid with Nori
Firstly, for the fingerfood they served this fried squid with a small cut of lemon. Honestly I didn't know what was the lemon for, I guess you have to pour it or what. But because I don't like that, I just ate the squid and yummm it tasted good! It's crispy and fresh, I can tell it. They mixed it with Nori which makes the taste richer.Hot Potato Salad
For you guys who love veggies, yes it's a must try! I don't know but I love it especially when it's still hot. The veggies are just light, creamy and again, Fresh! Such a perfect fingerfood.Kushi Katsu
Oh yeah, not doubt that this is my favouriteee. Gosh, I love how they served this pork! First bite you'll experience they lovely-crunchy outside, and then there's the fat and I admint it's kinda tought but it's alright because the pork is just great. I mean they have a very nice combination for this dish.Akamaru Kakuni
So as I told you that I were tasting their new menus and this is one of them, A red bowl Ramen because 'Aka(レッド)' means Red in Japanese, and 'Maru(丸)' means Circle or I guess it means 'Bowl' for this dish. I asked 'Normal' for the hardness level of the noodle when their waiter asked, and 'Medium' for the spiciness level. It comes with a big portion, not just the bowl but the ramen as well lol. On top of it, they put a very tempting Pork belly. The broth tasted nice and yumm, but I guess it was less salty. The noodle is thin and perfect! I love to slurp it until it sounds like 'Slurppp' XDShiromaru Kakuni
Shiromaru means 'White Bowl'. Still with large Pork Belly as the topping, it has white tonkotsu broth. For the filling it has bean sprouts, kikurage & spring onions. It tasted more salty than the Akamaru Ramen, which is better for me. Again, the noodle is just perfect. But it will be better if they serve it with half-cut boiled egg, don't you think?
This one served with a big black bowl. I don't know what's the meaning of Karakamen so I can't tell you about this one lol. The ramen itself tasted yummy, I recommend you to order the spicy one because the taste will be richer. And the Pork belly just completes it!Beef Teppanyaki
This one looks unique, served in a hot plate with fried noodle around the rice and there's this beef in the middle. Don't forget to scramble the egg while it's hot so that it will mix with the rice instead of cooked by the corner!
Tasted yumm and the beef is tender, you might wanna try this.
was just fine, you can order Hot or Cold. It's not a secret that Ocha is the best dish to accompany you enjoying Japanese food Ippudo
sucessfully delivered yummy authentic Japanese foods to me! Not just deliz but also fresh, because they said they wouldn't served like frozen ingredients if they can serve the fresh ones. I also love their hospitality, but you have to bear the noise from the waiters as they always yelling to welcoming or good bye-ing the customers, bet you've ever experienced it in the other japanese restaurants. So if you're craving for yummy Authentic Japanese Food with fresh ingredients, Ippudo is a-must to go!

Sip Ha Thai
I'm not a big fan of sweet-dish terutama main course.Kangkong Shrimp (IDR 17K)
Not so bad to accompany your meal.Mango Sticky Rice (IDR 28K)
Gak lengkap kayaknya kalo makan tanpa diakhiri oleh dessert (inimah gw nya aja rakus ya). So gw pesen Mango Sticky Rice with Vanilla Ice Cream ini, untuk rasa sih cukup enak apalagi perpaduan Susu, Mangga dan Vanilla Ice Creamnya. Cuma sangat disayangkan bahwa kualitas Sticky Rice nya kurang baik menurut gw, bingung juga ngejelasinnya gimana tapi ya intinya sih agak hambar dan teksturnya gimana gitu sticky ricenya. But overall sih enak apalagi dicampur-campur dengan susu, mangga dan ice creamnya.Red Ruby (Free)
But still, pengen balik lagi untuk nyobain menu-menu lainnya yang kaya rasa!
