Selamat Datang Di Warung Tahu!

Gurame Asam Manis
Cah Kangung Pedas
Cumi Saos Padang

Yoshinoya Mall Taman Anggrek Smile Aug 31, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Jepang | Fast Food | Halal

Yoshinoya first opened in 1899 at the Nihonbashi fish market in Tokyo.[4] When the market was devastated by the Great Kanto Earthquake, Yoshinoya moved to the new Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo in 1923.

In the early 2000s, Yoshinoya triggered a price war in Japan along with other chains such as McDonald's, by introducing a regular beef bowl dish for 280 yen, or around US$3.

In late 2001, a domestic mad cow incident critically damaged beef bowl sales. In late 2003, Japan suspended imports of American beef due to a BSE incident in Washington, cutting off Yoshinoya's main source of short plate (fatty beef) that is the main component of its beef bowl. This forced Yoshinoya to terminate beef bowl sales in Japan for the first time in its history on February 11, 2004. News of the removal of this item from Yoshinoya's menu caused its fans and non-fans alike to queue in massive lines at its restaurants all around Japan to taste what might be their last beef bowl for a long time. Yoshinoya then switched to serving pork bowl (butadon) instead of beef. On the other hand, its restaurants in the United States continued to serve the beef bowl using American short plate. From December 2, 2004, restaurants in Japan started serving "beef yakiniku bowls" (牛焼肉丼, gyū-yakiniku-don) which use Australian beef, different sauce and additional vegetables,[5] distinguished from original "beef bowls" that use American beef.

In December 2005, Japan agreed to remove the restriction on importing beef from the United States. A letter to customers was then put up in restaurants promising that the beef bowl would return in a couple months or so. In January 2006, imports stopped again because inspectors found banned cattle parts in a veal shipment from the United States. In June 2006, Japan lifted the ban on imports again, and on July 31, 2006, Yoshinoya re-posted the letter promising to retrieve the beef bowl in about two months.

On September 18, 2006, Yoshinoya brought back their beef bowl for one day as "the beef bowl revival festival" (牛丼復活祭, gyūdon fukkatsusai). This "revival", however, meant that its beef bowls would be available only the first five days of the month in October and November. On December 1, 2006, they began serving beef bowls daily, albeit at limited hours.

Mr. Curry Cry Aug 01, 2011
Categories : Jepang | Restaurant | Kencan / Berpasangan | Kumpul Keluarga

Mr. Curry is another restaurant by Ismaya. Different from Kitchenette, Mr. Curry is a franchise from Singapore. So, it's not purely Ismaya's. I've been meaning to try this place for some time but didn't have the time to come to Grand Indonesia.

From the outside, it's kinda similar to Waraku and Pasta de Waraku. Well maybe coz they came from the same group (not ismaya but the SG one). I don't find it that interesting once I visit the place, it looks too casual and very fast food like. Since it was my sis's bday and we already planned to dine here, I decided to give it a try

The place has a cute kitchen-theme ambiance. Very simple (too simple I think), bright and casual is the first thing that came to mind the moment I entered this place. We chose the sofa next to the window, overlooking the city. Well, the view is not bad... smile

The food:
1. Chicken Katsu Curry (Rp. 58.000)

This is their main specialty. It was yummy smile The katsu was great... It was tender in the inside but crispy on the outside. My katsu is made from thigh meat (usually katsu is made from breast) so maybe that's why it's rather tender. For the curry, I picked Black Ink Curry. The black ink made it more 'deep' and easy on the eye. The portion is very small despite the not-so-cheap price tag. That kinda turned me off...

2. Beef Sausage Omelette (Rp. 48.000)

Standar issue jap style omelette with original curry sauce. Omellete (esp. Mr. Curry's) doesn't go well with curry. Their omelette is a bit moist, add the curry and the steam rice, u got urself a porridge like consistency. Me no likey

3. Oyako Curry Don (Rp. 38.000)

It's oyako don but they put some curry in it. Making it darker and spicier than usual... The first bite was good but the next one made me realize that the curry ruined the oyako don! Jap food's main attraction is the deliciousness in their simplicity. Adding the curry into the oyako don is plain wrong

4. Chocochips Cheesecake (Rp. 18.000)

I dunno what to say bout this dessert. It's supposed to be a cheesecake but I just didn't get it. As a cheesecake lover, this thing just ruined the word cheesecake to me!!!! It's like a very thick ice cream with too much chocochip topping.

The service is not good (no surprise there, not the first Ismaya restaurant that give below standard service) The waiter took a long time to check the availability. At first, I wanted to order a hamburg curry, lassi and swiss chocolate cheesecake. NOT AVAILABLE. What a disappointment....

Ismaya's worst restaurant ever.... I don't plan on coming back here. Mediocre but overpriced food, sucky service and no ambiance to enjoy.

Shabu Slim Central Park OK Aug 01, 2011
Categories : Jepang | Restaurant | Buffet | Shabu Shabu | Rombongan | Kumpul Keluarga | Ulang Tahun

Dengan sistem All You Can Eat (Rp. 98.000/pax, disc 30% min 4 pax), harga nya ga mahal mahal amat

Sushi nya seh std abis... Yah what do u expect from a sushi buffet ga jelas macem gini....

Let the massacre begin...

Kuah tomyam nya adalah salah satu kuah tomyam paling aneh yg perna gw makan. Gw uda bingung kenapa ade nya si Ciwalit yg notabene makannya mirip2 selera nya sama Ciwalit bisa doyan tomyam yg rasa nya kaya gtu. Ternyataaa, tomyam nya manis saudara saudara!!! Aneh ga sehhh... Dimana mana tomyam yah asem en pedes, ini mah cenderung manis en gurih... Ga nyambung banget

Engga banget deh... Dengan harga segitu yah at least bikin kek bakso ato pangsit ato apa lahhh yg signature nya, ini mah semua nya barang yg loe bisa beli di carrefour (bukan ranch market/food hall ya, CARREFOUR) Even sayur ijo nya pelit benerrrrrr.. Ampe pegel gw nungguin tu makanan muter karena yg gw liat lagi lagi bakso ikan en bakso ikan. Kemana hilang nya tu daging sapi...

I'm a huge Hanamasa fans and always compare every AYCE resto with it. I gotta say, Hanamasa is wayyyy better (with the same price) Hanamasa knows that the point of an AYCE resto is to provide endless food. No need fancy decor or stellar service, food is the main point. This resto just lost it, it's an AYCE resto but it's semi fake coz it slows down the customer to eat all they can

Well, I think it's still worth to try, at least the ice cream is nice hehe
