Located in Jalan Kranggan, the real stall of Pak Gendut is with the green colour, like shown in the picture. Because there are lots of “copycats” around, of course with a different flavor from Pak Gendut. It opens around 12 – 1 p.m, and it’s kinda hard to look for a parking area, especially for cars.Longing Balap itself is one of the traditional food from Surabaya. It consists of kecambah / taoge (beansprout) & its soup, “Tahu Goreng” (deep fried tofu), “terasi” paste, “lento”, and ketchups. You could also have the side dish which is “Sate Kerang” & also the chilli sauce. Let’s review the food!Lontong Balap - IDR 10,000The “terasi” paste is really flavourful, and i love the beansprout. It’s really crunchy and well cooked. Love the texture of “Lento”, it’s super savory. The tofu is deep fried and dry, and I really like it. Just add the chilli sauce, and you’ll get one of the best Lontong Balap ever!Sate Kerang - @ IDR 1,000I could say that the price is super affordable, because in 1 stick, you’ll get like 4 “kerang” in a very tiny size. You could say that actually “Kerang” is “Lontong Balap” best friend, tastes really good when they two blends together in your mouth. It’s usually serve with ketchup, “bawang goreng” (fried red onion), and of course, chilli sauce.BeveragesCoconut IceIf you want some freshness after eating the flavorful “Longing Balap” then coconut ice is a very great choice. The coconut is crunchy and the coconut water tastes sweet (they add some white sugar into it). A perfect drink in a hot weather ;)AmbianceThe stall is super small, so don’t expect anything like air conditioner or stuffs. It’s so comfortable though, and I love sitting in front of the seller, watching him or sometimes her making the customer’s order.ServiceThe seller there loves to chit chat. You’ll get a chance to chit chat with them if you sit on the chair infront of them. With a very traditional Surabayanese language, they’re really friendly and kind.--Megan FaustineInstagram & Twitter : @meganfaustineBlog : borntobite.blogspot.com Lanjutkan Membaca
